The hotel is huge and no personal feeling to it . The bed sheet is horrible . It is hard as sand paper ,no comfort on the bed .The way they set up the TV I don't like it .It is on the side of the bed . The mate clean really well . The kits in the bath room is just perfect . The internet it is most expensive so far $29 a day .I don't know why they can't include with the room price instead of telling you that they will charge it extra .

We have just returned from a trip to the Flinders Ranges and our last two nights were spent at the lovely Intercontinental Hotel in Adelaide before flying home to Melbourne.

We booked a Club Room and were given a lovely room on the 21st floor overlooking the Adelaide Cricket Ground, the river and parklands. We discovered that we had been upgraded to a larger room. I am a Ambassador member of the Priority Club of Intercontinetal but I don't think upgrades apply to Gold Members so this was a very nice surprise. We also received free bottled water, a fruit platter and some delicious chocolates. Free internet was provided in the Club Lounge.

The room was quite large and had a well designed marble bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the air condtioning was quiet. There was a desk overlooking the view and a comfortable settee for watching TV or just reading.

We had all our meals in the Club Lounge during our stay. The food was plentiful. The breakfasts had fresh fruit, cereals, smoked meats, cheeses, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages egg, toast that you cooked yourself, pastries, espresso coffee, soft drinks and tea.

Sandwiches were provided at lunchtime by dialling 5 from the Club Lounge. Again coffee, tea, soft drinks and biscuits were also provided.

Canapes and drinks were from 5.30pm- 7.30pm. Any drink from sparkling white and red wines to spirits were provided. We had enough to eat each night without having to go out to dinner.

We enjoyed our two nights in this lovely hotel with excellent staff who were only too happy to help you with any problem.

The hotel is very handy to everything in Adelaide. We did a lovely walk along the river on our only afternoon there and we also visited the shops in Rundle Street which is only a block away. If you are interested in gambling then the Casino is right next door.

Staff excellent and room had good views over river. Very good dinner in their Japanesse restaurant. Good location with easy walk to main shopping area. Plenty of helpful advice on driving into the outback.

We stayed in a "River View" room and it was magnificent. We were put on the 20th floor (with views to Glenelg/Port Adelaide/Hills). It was very quiet and very clean.
I loved the bed - king size, divine sheets and comfy mattress.
We went on some tours (the buses pick-up and drop-off directly across the road which was extremely convenient and there was a tram stop directly out the front).
The staff were very efficient and professional. Reception had plenty of staff.
We didn't eat in the restaurant - seemed a bit pricey. But we ordered room service and there was a lot of variety in food choice and price choice. There is a convenience store across the road - where we stocked up on essentials such as water.
My only criticism - you have to fill the kettle with water from the bathroom taps (which freaks me out in relation to hygiene issues), but there are coffee shops everywhere anyway.

Stay was from Friday afternoon to Monday dawn. Initially stayed in Riverview room, then upgraded to higher floor Cityview room.

From the moment the porter opened my taxi door to the day I checked out, my experience was 5 star. Staff were always courteous, helpful and very professional.

At first, I was checked into room 601, next to the lift. It was Friday night and I could hear loud music (from some sort of function) well into the early hours of the morning. As you can expect, I did not get much sleep and advised reception at about 8-10am the next day. I was upgraded to level 15 within a few hours and then had some of the best night's sleep I can remember.

The pillows, sheets and quilt are of exceptional quality and the linen, lighting and furnishings set the environment for a cosy stay. The staff at the buffet breakfast were fast and professional and it was one of the most complete continental buffet breakfasts I have every had!

We stayed for 6 nights as international retired leisure travellers who take life slowly and comfortably. We have been connected with the Hotel industry elsewhere and are especially observant about atmosphere and quality service.
We stayed on the 22nd floor of Club Intercontinental. All the staff we met were curteous, friendly, helpful, yet att all times professional. We were particularly impressed at ckeck-in as the Receptionist sorted out a confusion over two separate, distinct room bookings which central reservations seemed incapable of resolving despite repeated attempts by the writer. We were asked what we wished, and it happened there and then.
We did eat in the main Restaurant fro the a la carte menu, and found the food well presented and tasty.
The hotel is reasonably centrally placed, and we would recommend it thoroughly to others who wish to take life easier. Concierge were always ready to help with suggestions about where to go and what to do We did not make use of the 'fitness' facilities and splendid looking pool.
Tip: Staff do know what Margarine is ! - just persevere if you do not like butter !!!

Thought the room was quite spacious with good quality fittings, a great view over the river and Adelaide Oval. Central locationnext to the casino but not a lot of restaurants/cafes in the vicinity that we could find. We had the Tappas in the bar one night which was delicious and good value.
