“Interesting Information”

Good museum to fill in a few hours in Adelaide. It had some interesting exhibits, some parts are not that interesting but some of the exhibits such as the ones on Australian animals were a bit more to my taste. Good information about Australia and South Australia.

“South Australian Museum”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

This is an old well established museum where visitors can spend many hours strolling around historic and modern exhibits. It is easily accessible on the beautiful tree lined North Terrace, which in itself is worth a walking tour, with the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, Government House, Art gallery, universities and many more attractions.

“Aboriginal Displays”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

This museum has the largest displays of Aboriginal Artifacts in the World and wow it lives up to the reputation and the displays were amazing and well presented, easy to get around and the soup of the day at the Cafe before we left was delish.

“Refreshingly Insightful”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

Went on a tour of the SA Museum today. I'm quite a curious person, and an Adelaide local, but I felt quite silly today when I realized how I have previously neglected the museum as a location of interest. If knowledge can be understood as an object of consumption, then I suppose I could describe the museum as quite the recommendable (not sure if that's a word) banquet of information. I was especially impressed by the attention that the museum gives to local historic and scientific knowledge; and the insights which our tour guide, Lyn, was able to convey in such a short time. I must visit again soon, I've only begun to discover what the museum has to offer.

“Simply sensational”
Reviewed June 13, 2014

We spent a full day at the museum and did not have enough time. Tonnes of things to see and do. The stuffed animal collection is a sight to behold - I've never seen so many stuffed animals from all around the world all a the same time.

The layout can be quite confusing as the museum is spread over several buildings but you won't get lost.

Highly recommended!
