“Good museum with good air conditioning”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

On a boiling hot day (45 degrees) worth a couple of hours visit. Spread over four floors the mineral collections were particularly interesting and informative. Children seem well catered for with a 'science geek' on hand to teach the children about the earth. Numerous cases of dead, stuffed wild life so may disturb individuals of a sensitive nature.

“Impressive museum”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

I've visited this museum a few years ago, but with a special focus back then on opals and fossils relating to the work I had to do. This time however, I had the leisure of browsing as a tourist and ended up spending a good 3 hours looking at the exhibits on Aboriginal history and culture, as well as the Pacific Islands exhibits. It was simply amazing and highly informative. A few other museums my partner and I have visited around Australia seemed to have commercialized the experience of Aboriginal representation, but this place was very factual. For all international visitors who have a keen interest in learning a little about the Indigenous people of Australia, this museum is not to be missed.
