“Nice Natural History Museum”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

This Museum has been updated and contains a good collection of animals displayed in more naturalistic settings and by continent. Makes for an enjoyable afternoon for families. Special exhibitions require a fee, but there is plenty of stuff to see for free. My boys were impressed with the lifesize model of a giant squid that extends down 2 or 3 storeys of the museum!

“Wonderful aboriginal exhibition”

What an amazing history of aboriginal life and art. The exhibit is extensive and is a must see. The gift shop had some great souvenirs.

“Great free museum”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

I have visited a few times now often spending longer in different exhibits each time. Being free means you can pick a room have a look round and then go back another day and visit another exhibit.

It does have some paid exhibits but I would only visit these if I was really interested.

Some hands on exhibits and short films around the museum help keep younger ones happy.

Have been a few times and just focus on something different each time. It is centrally located and so accessible. A good family outing and something for everyone whether it be from whales or through to aboriginal history. Good staff and very helpful

“Interesting History Displays”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

We visited to learn more about the Aboriginal people of South Australia and their history in the region. The displays included wonderful artifacts. The videos supported these in telling a story of the culture of the people. There could be a little more detail about the people and their lives throughout the displays. This is a good way to spend a couple of hours in Adelaide and it is free to all.
