This is a rather large museum with potentially a lot to see. It has a large collection of aboriginal cultural artefacts. The building is, like its neighbours, from late Victorian era and is well preserved. Being next to the State Library, The Art Gallery and the late 19th century buildings of the University of Adelaide, it is worth spending a good deal of time especially as the entrance to see the permanent collection of the Museum is free

The museum was one of the better attraction on my visit l spent half the day there and loved it. Upon my arrival my friend took me there and l thought it would be boaring, but l found it to be very informative.

Good talks by experts who tailor their information to the level of their audience. Also good to wander and enjoy the outstanding selection of Aboriginal artefacts and up to date video testimonies of people from the region, explaining their culture. It took an hour or two wandering matching exhibits being surprised and enlightened, and was absorbing.

What a terrific way to understand a piece of the past of the oldest continent! I thought the exhibits were full of history which shed light on the current life in Oz. it is free with a lovely cafe and good food.

I wandered around this museum while my better half was shopping. I particularly wanted to see the Roman exhibition, but baulked at paying the entrance fee. to me, if a museum has free entry, then it should all be free.
I have visited other museums and found them to be more entertaining than this one with so few themes. It is ok if a visitor is fascinated with aboriginal artefacts, either from South Pacific islands or here in Australia. The stuffed animals did not take too long to see, as they are nothing special. No doubt others will not agree, but i will not be returning in a hurry.
