this mueseum has been remodelled from what it was when i was a child, they have taken a lot of care to keep it's old feel while introducing lots of interactive learning facilities. ......keep an eye out for the lion that sits in the glass box on it's own...some say it still lives ;-)

We visited the Adelaide museum with our 2 younger children aged 6 and 8. The children and us really enjoyed it. It isn't a HUGE museum which I think added to the appeal, but has lots of interesting displays and some that are interactive and hands on!! Our children loved the antarctic exhibition, the dinosaurs and the 'giant' squid which you can see through a glass wall as you go up the stairs. The cafe has excellent food at really good prices!!
I would recommend this as a half day outing!!

Do not miss the plesiosaur fossilized in opal! I think it's on the third floor, but just ask directions at the info desk. And, oh, BTW, the rest of the museum is great too!

The museum is at the heart of north terrace, a great part of the city. The museum has had recent upgrades and is great for families
