Good location on Hindley Street, I stayed here with friends for the cricket and the bar and ambiance was good. Good selection of food and local restaurants and the staff were very helpful. Easy to get to the Botanic gardens and car hire places and not a long drive to the Barossa for a night or two. The hotel has good wine list which was was very pleasant. Hindley Street can be a little colourful but don't be put off by that as its nothing to seasoned travellers and safe in my opinion.

Room Tip: I had a front room and that was pretty quiet so I don't think you can go wrong really.

we stayed at the rockford in adelaide ,from the moment we got out of the car we were made welcomed straight away,Natasha & v who was on the front desk they made our holiday plus beth &woojong in the breakfast area they were just as good with helpful advice on many things to see and do, we had a room on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel which was very quite and could not hear any noise from the night club area i had done some research before we left Brisbane on the hotel and was not disappointed at all, great staff good food and a friendly atmosphere and when we got back from a days outing the front desk always asked how was your day, we just had a great time, and the free travel on public transport for us seniors you can't beat that i would recommend this hotel very highly.

Room Tip: always ask for a room at the back of the hotel as this eliminates the noise that may come from the night life area.

We were a little concerned when we pulled up at the hotel but what a nice surprise when we entered. The lobby was spacious and very clean. We were upgraded to a Deluxe King room as we were staying for 6 nights which was lovely & was located at the back of the hotel. This room was very spacious & well designed, the bed very comfortable & the bathroom was quite large although we did find it strange that there were no hooks in there. The TV was a good size. We had a wonderful breakfast each morning which had lots to choose from. We didn't go swimming but the pool area looked very nice. The location was good. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The only thing that we found wrong was that we couldn't open the sliding door to our room & it still hadn't been fixed when departed but apart from that we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: ask for a back room

Stayed in the Rockford from 4th December for a week or so to watch The Ashes.

Rooms were very large - a bit of a mini suite with a very large open bathroom and separate shower. Passageways in the hotel were dark and dingy but the public areas on the ground floor and the pool on the top were good.

Breakfast was uninspiring and we gave up after the first couple of days and ate elsewhere despite having paid for breakfast at The Rckford.

I didn't like the location. Though it was convenient, it seemed a bit like a red light district and I certainly wouldn't have wandered around late on my own.

Wouldn't stay again.
