“Tate to Turner exhibit”

Different to many other art displays as this one also shows you what his studio would have been like - the artist's working canvasses and implements along with his sketches.

“Great lunch in a stunning environment.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Had a great lunch here, was a beautiful warm sunny autumn day and we sat outside. Turner from the Tate exhibition is on at the moment and we hada nice relaxed themed lunch, followed by a tour of some of the artists outstanding works.
Service was excellent, understated but attentive as required. Food was nice, nothing exceptional, but pleasant enough and a fine diversion from the days chores :)

“Artfully harmonized with the Palate.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

A combination of the utmost pleasure. Art and Food! A reliable place in Adelaide. A must. A well deserved pit stop after the beautiful art work.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city, a sophisticated atmosphere, distracted away in the serenity of the beloved courtyard.
The menu revised and deliciously updated. A superb lunch.
For the ones who would rather bypass Art,
a free pardon.

“Excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

Yesterday was a particularly busy day at the restaurant and I would like to commend the male waiter for his cheerful, obliging and helpful attitude. I was most impressed. Given the crowd, he could easily have been otherwise. We had a pleasant light lunch and went off to see the wonderful Turner exhibition.

“Always a great place for lunch !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

This restaurant is really a wonderful spot to go on a sunday(or any other day) to enjoy a leisurely informal meal before one wanders around the Art Gallery of South Australia. We recently visited this restaurant which is at the back of the Gallery. A lovely setting with lots of light so one can either sit out side under the awnings or sit inside and enjoy the a/c in the middle of summer.
The menu is quite small but has lots of small dishes to tempt you and it seems that everyone one we try we are never disappointed .During major exhibitions they put on various specials so if one becomes a regular the menu seems to give one lots of choices. We recently enjoyed a sticky pork fillet with sweet and sour slaw, and a Southern fried chicken with black eyed peas and corn salsa.
Both got the tick of approval ! The various salads going past also looked very tempting.
Desserts are excellent.....
The staff seem to be chosen on one major criteria...They are always smiling.
Service is a pleasure.
So wonder down off North Terrace an enjoy this great informal eating spot!
