If you come here, make sure you have time to spare and have had an entree before walking through the door. A fantastic old pub with a nice out door eating area however after ordering on a very quiet Sunday night it took a good 50 mins for meals to come out. If this venue was busy we could understand the wait, however when things are quiet a bit more prompt food service is nothing out of the ordinary to ask for. A complimentary drink would have been nice for the long wait. Nice venue but more urgency needs to be put on getting customers fed.

Adelaide has many choices for good food dining experiences, unfortunately the Kentish Arms did not meet this expectation. It is a lovely setting, however a ninety minute wait for food in a dining room that was only half full is a little long. During this time we had to ask for the bread that we ordered only to be told it was coming with the main meal. Across our table of six the food was average, but two of these meals were overcooked and lacking any sauce or flavour. Some of the waitressing staff were nice, attentive and friendly, however one was exceptionally surly bordering on being rude. The Kentish also charges for the use of any credit card, $6 dollars for Visa. No one from our table of six will be returning or recommending this venue to anyone.

Hello,

The Kentish has recently changed management, and we would like to invite you back to our friendly local pub. Our new team understands your frustration in regards to average service and long waits for your meals, and we are confident your next dining experience with us will be much more enjoyable.

Our new menu and kitchen team put an emphasis on good quality pub food (with a few more adventurous dishes), and our floor staff provide friendly and efficient service. Also, you will be pleased to hear we do not charge for the use of credit cards.

We hope to see you back here soon! Please let management know if you do return.

Kind Regards,
Sophie

This is a beautifully kept historic building and the atmosphere is really nice. I also liked the staff of duty. The food was quite good but of the "pretentiously small" variety which is accompanied by a "pretentiously large" price tag. The drinks were on the pricey side too. Don't get me wrong, I'm prepared to pay good money for excellent food but this place crosses the line in what it supplies compared to what it charges. I would have given it a higher rating had there been better value for money.
The menu is not extensive. I didn't check the wine list. Only go if the cost doesn't bother you. Otherwise go somewhere else which gives a better return for your dining expenditure.

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the new team at The Kentish - as it has recently undergone new management. We would like to invite you back to our beautiful, historic little pub for a more enjoyable dining experience.

We have a new team on the floor and in the kitchen, and we believe that the menu is appropriately priced for good quality pub food. Similarly we believe our drinks are well priced, with some great beer specials too. Be sure to ask the staff and they can fill you in on the latest!

We hope to see you back here again soon.

Kind Regards,

The Kentish has been around for more than 100 years. It's the perfect place for a drink on the way home. Staff are friendly and attentive and quick with a water bowl for our four legged friends. They are currently looking to extend services to coffee outside during the day. Truly a community focused venue. Best hot chips in town!

Beautiful dining room, lovely warm fire, great service. Food was well presented and tasty, be aware that vegies/salad have to be ordered separately. Dessert was delicious, old fashioned bread and butter pudding, citrus tart, creme caramel......yum! This is a small establishment and we ordered after most of the other customers which meant a couple of the items from the specials board were unavailable as they had sold out. This place is in the entertainment book for some savings on the bill.
