“Well worth doing”
Reviewed February 16, 2011

I did this with a mate during a short visit to adelaide. We got picked up at 9am and were finished for 1pm which was perfect, door to door service from our hotel. The cycle down through the gorges and valley is great fun with some challenging/scary bits to those of us who've never cycled off road! Wildlife park was amazing, you get to feed kangaroos who are so gentle and tame and plenty other cool animals too. $90 all in is cracking value, included entry to the wildlife park and even a free coffee and home made muffin from the owners wife. Would recommend to all.

“Brilliant fun - when you dare to let yourself go!”
Reviewed February 10, 2011

We'd already decided before we left the UK that we four wanted to do the half day trip Ian and Deborah run from the top of Mounty Lofty, into Cleland Wildlife Park and back into Adelaide via the residential district.
The four of us went a day after some very heavy rain which made the off road route a bit more challenging at the beginning, but just added to the fun! There were another 4 on our trip as well as Ian, who were obviously more experienced than us. We are all very novice mountain bikers and were a bit stiff with nerves at first, but soon got in the swing of it. Ian was great, waiting for us slower ones at the back and taking photos of everyone as we rode along. The bikes themselves were comfortable and safe and we were kitted out in helmets and gloves too. We saw koalas in the trees en route. One even crossed our path with a baby on her back and seemed completely unphased by us, even clambering over someone's bike which was laid on the ground. Cleland Park was just lovely and it was wonderful to handfeed the kangaroos and emus, ducks, geese etc. Got to see a koala close up and stroke it too. We had our choice of drinks bought for us at the Park before Ian broke open the tupperware box of cakes - Deborah hadn't done her famous brownies, raspberry cake instead i think - I had two bits and lovely it was too! We all arrived back at base in one piece after an exhilarating and hugely enjoyable ride. Only one accident - one of the younger lads on our trip took a tumble when someone opened a car door in front of him. He bounced well and recovered easily - think we were all more worried about him than he was about himself. We had a few well earned pints and a very enjoyable afternoon with Ray, one of the other trippers, when we got back - the pub a few yards from the city centre drop off point was very welcome! We all agreed that the bike trip was one of the highlights of our 2 month trip to Australia for the Ashes. Thanks Ian and Deborah for a brilliant day and one we'll remember and talk about for a long while!

“Escapegoat is a fantastic ride”
Reviewed February 9, 2011

I had a solo tour with Ian, the owner of Escapegoat Adventures, biking in the Adelaide Hills. He was very patient with a novice mountain biker, giving me biking tips and waiting for me with a big smile on his face at the top of the hills. This is a great way to see Australia at the ground level, I highly recommend it.

“The best way to see Adelaide”
Reviewed February 6, 2011

We had one free day in Adelaide and the 4 hour excursion down Mount Lofty was fantastic. It wasn't a challenging ride as it did start from the top, but it had some interesting bits and great scenery throughout. At the bottom, Ian guides you through some beautiful neighborhoods of Adelaide. The small business approach and personal touches of Ian and Deb really make this a delightful way to spend half a day. In addition, you get to see Cleland Wildlife Park which is a top attraction in Adelaide as well. Feeding kangaroos and emus as well as petting a koala was a definite highlight. Considering that Adelaide is a fairly expensive city, including taxis, this also was a great value.
