Visited during the Clipsal 500 Motorsport event. Expected the restaurant to be full but at best was only half full.
Waitstaff were all over us explaining the menu, the specials, topping up wine and water on a regular basis.
An interesting wine list, not huge but theres something for all tastes.
Once we placed the order, our table seemed to be forgotten. Extra-ordinary long wait for entre and no-one bothered to top up our wine or ask if we would like more. We actually had a bill put on our table as soon as we finished entree which belonged to a different table.
Entree of Scallops in half shell with prawn, dijon mustard and parmesan cheese was superb. One main of beef on skewers was tasty but didnt live up to the quantity of meat one expects from an Argentinean restaurant. The lamb chops dish was typical Argentinean, five juicy lamb chops. (more than adequate).
Both mains were presented on a wooden board and we opted for the side of veges. The roast potatoes were superb but the stir fry veges were very oily.
Took ages to pay the bill as there was someone before us with a complicated bill which took some sorting out. I was offered a complimentary port while waiting.
The food and drinks were good but overpriced for the service and location. wines were all $12 per glass and an average bottle was $60. Much better value can be found across the road at the hotel.
