“Just ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014 via mobile

Had lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Ordered chicken schnitzel with pepper sauce, which came with chips and salad. Cost $19.50. Schnitzel had rock salt coating. That was something I hadn't seen before and it wasn't to my tastes. Very salty. Chips were ok. Salad was ok and consisted of rocket, half a tomato, a little onion, a couple of olives and some dressing.

We were allocated a high table with stools. Seating wasn't very comfortable. There were lower, "normal" tables and also 2 bed-like seating areas, with small tables in the centre of them. Dining area was small.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

We recently had tea here - both our meals where excellent! Nothing really fancy (chicken and steak) but very tasty. Service was good and not overpriced. They have a good wine menu and the beer is cold which is always good! Would recommend!

Popped in for a drink - being tourists we asked staff about the beers on offer (blackboards were advertising micro-brewed, different local blends) however the barmaid was less than interested in giving any additional info so we ended up choosing for ourselves. Four female bar staff, unfortunately picked and chose who they served with enthusiasm, had to be told to check other areas of the bar and spent a great deal of time whispering and chatting to each other while ignoring patrons. An older gentleman came to the bar, the young barmaid said "what can I get you MATE" - we had one drink and left as we were fairly unimpressed. Sad, as the pub has a good atmosphere and a great selection of wines and food.

“Good pub food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

We were staying at the Grand Rendezvous so this was the closest pub to grab a bite to eat in and it turned out to be a pretty good choice. There is a good selection of beers on tap and by the bottle and the wine list isn't too bad either. The food is as you would expect from a pub - satisfies a hunger for a quick feed. My colleague had the roo fillet which was a bit overcooked, while my sausages with red cabbage was nice enough. The atmosphere is good and there is usually sport on the TV for those who are just in to grab a drink.
