Crowne Plaza - Hindmarsh Square Adelaide, this accomodation and hotel is fantastic,

Greeted by friendly and helpful bell boy, reception staff were prepared and ready for our arrival. the rooms were clean and fully accessable, the indoor heated pool and spa were in an amazingly kept condition.
Everything in the gym was actually working, what hotels can offer both a steam and dry sauna ? Well, this Crowne Plaza does, and they are clean and adjacent to the pool and spa.

The entire hotel is clean and warmly feeling, the staff are all extremely friendly and obliging, the restaurant opens to the outdoors, so great for indoor and outdoor dining or just that relaxing coffee.

Your made to really feel welcome, the barrister/ bar tender even remembered what drinks we ordered after the first day, always greeted by all staff with a smile and a freindly hello, staff were not affraid to stop and chat and did not give the impression that their manager was watching, therfore had to appear busy. This made us feel so much more comfortable in our stay.

What an amazing team of staff at the Crowne Plaza, nothing appeared difficult for them to accomodate guests needs.

It is also reasonably priced, this place gets a big tick from us, we will be back and will be using the hotel chain in other states & countries on our trips throughout the year.

THANK YOU staff and managment at Crowne Plaza Hotel - Hindmarch Square, Adelaide.

Joe & Brianna

Our second stay at the Crowne Plaza and it was just as good as the last time.

Staff are fantastic here, which seems to be a common trend we are finding in the IHG Group of hotels around the world. Check-in was warm, friendly and efficient.

As we were staying at the hotel for the Carols by Candlelight, the Concierge was very helpful, delivering our Rugs and Chairs out of the car and then on our return putting them back. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room was well fitted out and modern, which you expect from a brand new hotel. The bathrooms are spacious and I am a big fan of having a shower in a shower, not in a bath tub (although they have a seperate bath tub as well).

The breakfast we had was amazing. The fruit platters are delicious and well prepared with fruits you would expect as well as a few that are a welcome change.

The hot breakfast has everything you expect and was also delicious.

Overall another fantastic stay at the Crowne Plaza, which has become my preferred hotel when staying in the Adelaide CBD.

I have stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience but after the last...never again! I stayed here with my wife on our wedding night and had arranged for the lights to be dimly lit, the bath run with rose petals and for the electric candles to be turned on in the room. When we arrived at the hotel (in our wedding attire) we were rudely asked if we had a reservation and then waited more than 5 minutes for the uniterested staff member to give us our key. When we got to the room not one of things I had arranged had been completed (after more than 6 phone calls following up). To add to this, the champagne and strawberries were left warm by the door with no ice or refridgeration. I understand that mistakes happen but the worst was their follow up. I complained the next morning and the manager said she wouldn't apologise because it was not her fault. She promised a call to explain which I never got until I followed it up. I was told they would "look after me" for my next stay and upon arranging they offered me a room at $215 for the night - this was only $20 cheaper than Wotif.com. They clearly don't care, this was a big dissapointment for us on a night I tried so hard to make romantic and perfect but unfortunately wasn't.

I stayed for 2 nights with my daughter. We were upgraded to a deluxe room on the 5th floor with a balcony and view over the park.
Check in was fast and easy. We never had to wait more than a minute for a lift.
The room was spacious, with 2 double beds, a desk, chair, easy chair and side table. There is also the usual tea and coffee making facilities with a small fridge and a mini bar. The beds were very comfortable and not at all saggy. Sheets were excellent quality and there was a choice of pillows (although none of them were low enough for us.)
The TV was flat screen with the normal free to air stations and several Foxtel stations (satellite).
The bathroom is very large, new, and spotless with a large shower and full size bath. The towels were plentiful and of a very good quality, likewise the toiletries.
The pool is indoor and is suitable for swimming short laps. There is also a spa, steamroom and a very well equipped gym. We looked in the middle of the afternoon and there was no-one there.
We had the continental breakfast which was excellent. Huge fresh fruit selection with lots of variety, juices, as well as ingredients to make your own fresh juice, lots of different cereals including Bircher muesli, yoghurt, stewed fruits, dried fruits, nuts, cheese, cold meats, smoked salmon (not on Saturday), muffins, good quality bread, pastries, as well as coffee and teas. The cooked foods section appeared to have all the usuals. Overall a high quality, good value breakfast.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location of this hotel is excellent - walking distance to everything: shops, the arts precinct, the market, Rundle Mall, restaurants, the Zoo and Botanical gardens etc.
We did not hear any noise from neighbours, corridors or above. The traffic noise was minimal for a city hotel. The Thursday night was quiet from outside. However on the Friday night there was some noise from the pub on the corner. With the door shut, it was not very loud - just a dull thump. It didn't bother me as I wear ear plugs and couldn't hear a thing. My daughter said she could hear it, but it wasn't a bother.
But overall, I would not let this put me off choosing the Crowne Plaza as everything else is so perfect - I would never stay anywhere else in Adelaide.

We stayed for 6 nights at the Crowne Plaza with our 7 month old daughter. Exceptional service from staff, lovely hotel room - room overlooking Hindmarsh Square with balcony. Spacious room with very clean and spacious bathroom (deep bath and large shower area). Staff provided a (as new) portacot and also a high chair for use in the room.
I would happily recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Adelaide due to its central location, staff friendliness and general room standard and hotel ambience.
Despite the hotel having a business focus, i would not hesitate to stay here again with my family.
We had in-room breakfast which we were very impressed with. Generally though we ate breakfast out, plenty of places a few minutes away from the hotel, including cafes and a Mc Donalds.

Starting with the good - the hotel was very clean, room was of good size and the gym and pool area are excellent and the service was fine.

Now for the bad, the decor is very dull, dark and boring - in a five star hotel, I look to see something a bit different. Room looks over a car park and through to the Griffins hotel, which had a party on the balcony and the noise travelled until late in the morning.

Now for the breakfast - tried to get some hot food and had to try to get around the line up for the coffee machine to get to it. Food was average at best. My wife lined up at the single coffee machine for over 20 minutes. The setup is terrible - hopefully they correct this at some stage.

Overal disappointing - I was looking forward to staying at the newest 5 start hotel in Adelaide, but this hotel would not rate in the top 5. Plenty better to recommend.

We checked in to the Crowne Plaza. We were struck by how helpful and friendly the check in and concierge staff were. We'd just flown in from Hong Kong and arrived too early for our room to be ready. The staff stored our bags safely without prompting. We wandered into the nearby Rundle Mall for an hour or so.

Arriving back at the hotel, we speedily completed check in procedures and were taken to our room (504). Our room overlooked a multistory carpark approximate 10 metres away. No real view. There were blinds to obscure people in the car park spying our comings and goings.

The room however was horribly cluttered. A lovely desk with leather chair, a further chair, a stool and a small round table all crammed in alongside the window. Quite tricky navigating a safe path to the bathroom during the night!

There was a flash plaza tv in the wall, but the overall standard was let down by poor housekeeping. Behind the door, the carpet was lagged with dust.... Not. A day's worth, or even a weeks worth. Plenty more than that. We mentioned it to the lady who came in to check our mini bar. She said she'd mention it to housekeeping. If she did, they must have forgot to clean as it was grubby for our entire stay. The shelves under the bathroom basin were similarly dusty as was the tiled up stands by the toilet.

We felt breakfast was overpriced and had most of our meals at the small cafe down the terrace.

A disappointing stay recovered only by very friendly front of house staff.
