On the one hand, there's nothing special at all about the Falafel House.
On the other hand, it's an iconic Adelaide institution, serving the late night drunks for as long as I can remember. From the walls plastered with photos of the customers, to the inebriated punks staggering around outside just generally bringing down the tone of the otherwise wanna-be glitzy east end of Rundle Street, this place is pure class.
There are better and cheaper falafel rolls, kebabs, yiros and all the rest in Adelaide. However, not many of them are so conveniently located around the corner from the Crown and Anchor hotel, and specialise in being open when the pubs shut in the morning. They have a good menu, and all of the rolls they offer are available in two sizes, to suit your budget, your hunger and your level of intoxication. The falafel rolls rock, and they do a bean roll which is perfect for lining your stomach halfway through a heavy night.
