Senior couple, stayed for five nights. Location great, Price excellent. Staff helpful. Apartment well appointed.

The street facing apartments can be very noisy though, as Hindley St is "party central"

Room Tip: Rooms away from the Hindley St frontage are much quieter

Our family of 3 stayed 4 nights last December in a 2 room apartment. Rooms were fine and had a good balcony/patio area , well eqipped galley kitchen and eating area/lounge with in room washer/dryer which is great when on tour. There's ample parking downstairs which wasn't expensive. Hindley was pretty central and close to trams, station, Museums and cricket ground. A trip into the surrounding hills is a must with Harndorf village , vineyards and Warrarwong wildlife sanctuary paricularly good. Also Glenelg beach was terrific.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor - think most are - which was fine - theres a lift for heavy bags. On west...

Two eighty year olds... We have stayed in them all. From the Fairmont in San Francisco to the roach infested abodes in the South Western U.S.A. and this Hotel tops them all in 'just flat out comfort'. We had a spotless room with a balcony facing a busy street and the first night, we spent 5 hours just sitting on this balcony watching and listening to the heart of Adelaide. Cars, busses, trucks, and people on the sidewalk below us talking, laughing, and enjoying the evening. Noisey??? Not at all. Life being lived and enjoyed by tourists and locals alike.

After spending 6 days going to and from Ayer's Rock, we again stayed at this Hotel. Again, a spotless room, the most occomodating staff, and another room with a balcony facing the same busy street. We were here three nights and never turned the T.V. on. Our theater was the street four floors below.

Room Tip: To me, street noises are like 'rain on a corrugated tin roof', I sleep like a log. If street...

Stayed for about 4 or nights with a couple of friends back in July.

Overall was a good stay, friendly staff, clean, not the most modern kitchen but well equipped, generally good furniture and decor.

The Scottish guy at the reception (i think his name was Alistair) was fantastically helpful, friendly and great for a chat.

Hindley street is a little unsavory if you intend to go out at night, but I'd still stay there again.

Room Tip: I stayed in one of the rooms facing on to the internal courtyard which was very quiet. I suspect th...

The apartment was neat, clean and well equipped. It was about a 10 minute walk to the central CBD and 10 minutes walk to the market area. There is paid parking but after 6pm and before 8am there is limited street parking close to the hotel.

Room Tip: Request a back room away from the street for quietness.

My sisters and I booked here for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom unit. After reading some of the previous reviews we were very concerned. We rang and requested a courtyard unit and an early check in and late check out. Right from the first phone call, the staff were very kind and helpful. We arrived and were warmly greeted by Robin and offered an upgrade for $20 a night extra, we decided to stay in our unit as it was more than enough room for us. We were all very happy and we are all very fussy women. Our time there was wonderful, the front staff were always so happy to help us in any way - booking taxis, suggesting places to eat or looking up movie times. The break free is a wonderful place to stay, and is realy great value for money. Thank you for making my birthday such a great memory. We all hope to come back soon. Cheers Rachel - Brisbane, QLD

Room Tip: request a room off hinley st and a courtyard unit
