“Local pub great atmosphere”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

A hidden treasure in North Adelaide, great beer garden out the back, huge TV, umbrellas, very nice for an easy Sunday afternoon drinks! Get the grazing platter, prawns, risotto balls, meats olives, bread, yummy. Had plenty of meals over the year, in the front bar and in the fine dining restaurant, great variety of food, good quality. We had a prawn & Chilli pasta last weekend and it was simply delicious! Staff always very friendly and we always enjoy winter with the open fires and Summer is just plain relaxing in the beer garden!

“Terrible meal”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Second time at the Hotel restaurant. Lost our booking but luckily I reconfirmed on the day & they had plenty of room. omen? After ordering we waited 45mins for an entree. Grossly overpriced. Scallops the size of 2 10c pieces stuck together 5 or 6 for $19 ! Salt & peper calamari turned out to be mostly whole baby squid which for many diners is a turn off. Mains? supposedly Tasmanian MSA scotch fillet was tough, thin rare & well done at the same time? I just cant believe the change in quality. Sides supposed to arrive with mains were cancelled after 15 mins. Overall one of the worst meal Ive had in a long time. Service was ordinary & quality very variable around our table of 10. We wont be back.

“Fairly regular pub fare.”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Best to order a grazing plater here and enjoy a few drinks. I've done this once and was impressed and decided to head back to the restaurant.
Of four meals the pork belly was so dry it had degraded and fallen apart. Two weere on the plate, one was fresh, one had been reheated.
The fish special was terribly over-seasoned and served with an anchovy sauce to assist in everything else on the plate being completely overwhelmed.
I had scotch fillet and while the rest of the plate was reasonable the steak was not restaurant grade, it was a pub grade sub $20 steak. I eat Coorong free range rump and porterhouse weekly and the grade of the steak I was served (along with the cut) was extremely poor at $29.
The grazing platter was solid for the price which is what's stopped me rating this as terrible.

“Really good local pub with brilliant restaurant”
Reviewed July 17, 2011

The food and service here is fantastic, great attention to detail, reasonably priced, good wine list. Staff are really "on the ball".
Steaks and seafood excellent.
The court yard outside is good in summer and has open gas fires for cooler days / nights.
Highly recommended !!!!!
