Great Tavern - really enjoyed the view and the ambience at the tavern. Cafe is great for late afternoon pizza and drinks - try the outdoor area

We visited the marina 4 times over December and January on our boat and ever time Kat was so helpfully it made the experience one of the best in the Whitsunday's. thanks Kat.

Such an eclectic collection of yachts moored at this marina and they are all beautiful craft. Not quite as luxurious as you find in The Mediterranean but very nice!

Overall, just a bit odd and a wasted opportunity. Parts of it aren't as overpriced as we thought they'd be (Manta Ray Cafe pizza was excellent, fish and chips were great) but we were there for the busiest time of the year (Christmas/New Year) and there were empty shops, shops closing at 4:30pm (when hundreds of people return to the Marina from boat tours at 5pm!), inconsistent bus routes.

Other than keeping the shops open later (what's an hour later in the busiest week of the year?) the only thing we can suggest would be to make part of it pedestrian and free from electric buggies. And definitely be down there for sunset when the bats come out!

Sitting on one of the most spectacular buildings you could hope to find and enjoying a light meal of absolutely beautiful lightly battered squid with a G&T I could have been anywhere. I was on Hamilton Island which is just a short flight from the Gold Coast!

The views were absolutely spectacular and can't be beaten. There was a light breeze, the service was great and the buzz of the little village nearby was just lovely.

We took the family, stayed with friends at a great holiday house called Alang Alang overlooking the whole of the port and other islands. It was sensational.

Getting around in the golf buggies for the week was fun and environmentally friendly.

The whole holiday was fabulous and it's right on our doorstep.
