Truly stunning. The yacht Club itself is an amazing building in an incredible location. Bommie restaurant occupies the perfect spot within the club, overlooking the marina and the passage between Dent Island and Hamilton Island. It is one of those locations you have to see to appreciate.
The food presentation was outstanding, as were the tastes in every dish. For entree we had the Ravioli of smoked quail with swiss brown mushrooms and jerusalem artichoke veloute, as well as the crumbed pork hock with jamon and beetroot relish - both excellent.
For mains we enjoyed the duck breast with sauted brussel sprouts (never thought I would like brussel sprouts in any meal!) celeriac and apple puree, with warm duck leg terrine, as well as the ccoral trout with sago-aloo potato and spinach & green tomato salsa.
The prices may seem steep, but when you consider that the amuse bouche, breads, sorbet palatte cleanser all come complementary, you actually get a full meal for the price of 2 (or three) courses - and it is 5 star quality. You do not get five star food, service and location for two star prices so I think we were content that we got value for money.
