My wife and I have eaten at most of the places on Hamilton Island now and Beach Club is just so great.
We have stayed here at beach club for 1 full week and i would like to say a big thanks to all the staff here, you guys are so good and always make sure the guests are well looked after.
We will be back in six months as we have enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner here many times.
Fresh food and great atmosphere.

We had our first meal of our stay here. Ambience ok, nothing special. Nicest tables are up on the pool deck, but they were all taken. Ordered scallops for entree, that arrived tasteless, cold and uninspiring sitting in their shells. Mains were an improvement, my duck was beautifully cooked and hubby enjoyed his lamb rack and rump. Service was ok, but staff very young and inexperienced, some seemed quite nervous. Wouldn't go back. Mariner's the nicest dining option.

This restaurant just doesn't deliver. We were in a group of 6 ... Thankfully we had great company to distract us from the fact that it took an hour for our entree to arrive and well over and hour for our main. This was despite the entrees all being non-cooked items!(natural oysters x 3 people, scallops creviche x 3 people. Unbelievable considering we were amongst the first people in the restaurant at 7pm. Other tables had been served, eaten and left. When serving both courses the waitress said 'thank you for your patience' and vanished. No acknowledgement otherwise.
At the start, after being seated and first given the menus, the waitress wanted to do a combined food and wine order. Odd for fine dining service! As we had already waited 10mins without drinks, my husband asked if we could get some cocktails and wine first and then order. Disappeared for another 10 mins. This happened with the following bottle of wine too. How long does it take? Likewise, when considering whether to risk waiting forever for a dessert, we requested the dessert menu. The fact this took at least 10 mins for just the menu to turn up made us realise that we just could not be bothered -as quite frankly the food simply isn't worth waiting for. Two of us had mackerel at $44 overcooked and underseasoned. Salad way too basic for fine dining (lettuce tomato and carrot!) Honestly. The seafood panache at $60 had us all interested ... But it was clearly frozen seafood and the 3 diners who chose this were all disappointed with the quality and size. This was our second visit to Beach Club .... Just doesn't deliver.

Booked into the Beach Club restaurant for our first dinner meal on the island as we are staying at the beach club.

Firstly, all the restaurants on the island look hideously overpriced, and the beach club is no exception.

a restaurant offering $44-60 mains >should< be able to match the service, atmosphere and overall experience to the price/quality of food.... But beach club restaurant for dinner didn't.

No great welcome, no discussion of the menu, asked for our order before drinks, 3 different waiters served us through the night.

Overall the food was actually quite good. Nice freshly shucked oysters, Moreton bay bug risotto was very good however the bug slightly undercooked. Beef filled was good and well cooked.

But overall, so not worth the $. The problem is though, the rest of the restaurants on the island now they are run by the island (not independent operators) look overpriced.

We'll try the others too and write more reports! Living inner-city Sydney, we are spoilt for choice, but in comparison, the Beach Club couldn't even get the basics of decent caring service right.
