Affordable luxury, Whitsunday magic, a true isle 'escape'. Whilst most other islands these days place themselves in the realms of the rich and famous only with their price tags and exclusivity, this little gem offers limitless activities, smiling staff, great food, superb surrounds, and all just a 30-minuite boat ride away from 'Hammo' (local speak for Hamilton Island). Hamilton is Hamilton - big and bountiful, yet somehow lacking an isle vibe. Daydream is a special drop in the ocean - a mere kilometre long with its own diverse beaches, rainforest walk, good snorkelling on Lovers' Cove, great water activities, open-air giant cinema screen...there's HEAPS to do, and it boasts the happiest staff in the Coral Sea. My partner and I loved it.
If only we were rich and famous, we'd buy it.

Room Tip: coral sea rooms a must. Wake up to water and islands from your bed and balcony.

Was a bit hesitant booking but so glad that we did. We had a 6 night stay, could have easily stayed longer. Our room overlooked the Marina, but we only went to our room to sleep and get changed, the room was a bit dated but clean and serviced daily. We enjoyed a full buffet breakfast daily which had heaps of variety. We kept busy with amazing free activities including kayaks, paddle boarding, open air cinema, swimming in the beautiful pools, we especially loved lovers cove where we hand fed the fish (fish food $2.00) you can also snorkel here bring your own snorkel gear and I recommend some swimming shoes as the coral on the beach is very hard on the feet, no sand. As the package was done through my qld holiday we also vouchers to use for jet skiing, day dream discovery tour , stingray feeding , massage at the spa & lunch and dinner vouchers we loved the food, mermaids was lovely with a view the mains approx $30 up. Splashes had a pool side BBQ which was $25 per adult included either chicken or a beef patty plus a sausage and a roll each and a huge selection of salads then tea cake, this option is great if you have spent the day swimming and don't want to get changed for dinner. The fishbowl wasn't open much on our visit luckily we ate there on our first night, I had fish and chips, the food there is similar to what you would get at your local pub. We visited Whitehaven for half day the water is crystal clear the sand is white, take your own drinks and sun protection as there is no shade. We had a full day at the Great Barrier Reef, an experience I'm glad that we did although the trip was 3 hours each way, we really enjoyed the snorkelling. I fully recommend day dream island as a fantastic family holiday my 10 year old son really enjoyed himself and never said that he was bored, he had his iPad but only used it at night we he was ready for bed. We would love to come back in a couple of years, we had lovely weather but we got told that they where on cyclone alert a few weeks earlier. We will definitely visit out of stinger and cyclone season. That being said only very few people wore stinger suits and we did not hear if any stings.

We stayed at this resort and first impressions were good, the room had a great view and was clean and comfortable but 4* its not.
Some of the Restaurants on the island were closed during our stay there and they seem to rotate which ones they open each day. Breakfast was good and was in the same restaurant each day.
The staff were friendly but very few of them on hand when you needed one, like the bar at night. Only one staff member operated the bar by themselves each night. So this person took your order, made your drink and then brought it to you only after waiting 20 mins each time you ordered. Oh and you are on an island so there is NO where else to go!
Whilst our time on the island was relaxing and the place is clean and tidy. It doesn't have much else going for it.
The charges for the boat ride to and from the island, that are not included, are way over the top in price.
So the bottom line is save your money and go elsewhere.

Our flight off Hamilton Island was cancelled and we were put up in Daydream by the airline.

Some 100+ passengers descended onto the hotel for check in, it could have been chaos but the staff handled it very well. Check in was friendly and very helpful. We were given a double room with a beautiful view of the ocean. It had great air conditioning.

The room was comfortable and catered for, we had a good night sleep. The phone didn't work in our room to order wifi.

The evening meal and breakfast buffet were massive and boasted good variety for the resort. I would have loved to have been a child as they offered a massive selection if sweets and fun sprinkles for ice creams.

They offered an evening buffet including BBQ and salads. I'm not sure whether I would have wanted to eat there every night but for the purpose of our trip it was great. We had been stranded at the airport for 4 hours before the ferry was able to collect the passengers. We were tired and hungry. Both my husband and I thought that what was offered that night was just what the doctor ordered.

We were woken at 7am by a screaming (ecstatic) child running down the corridor. It's very much a family resort so we were not that cross by the disturbance.

The whole resort is geared up for families and can imagine its a really great experience for a family wanting some chill time in a gorgeous place but also lots of amusement for kids.

The decor is like the barrier reef with lots of bright colours and marine life sculptures and art work. It has extensive grounds with pools and marine life such as small Sharks, Manta Rays and beautiful coloured tropical fish. Everything is a little outdated but clean and maintained.

Daydreamer isn't the sort of place I would book but as a surprise visit we were made very comfortable.

The Island is in a beautiful spot, the view back on the Whitsunday's from the hotel is amazing.

Just returned from Daydream Island, fantastic resort. Spent 5 days attending wedding. Ocean view bedroom which was wonderful. Rooms spacious and bed very comfortable. Although restaurants had limited choice the food is delicious and portions very generous, my daughter and myself shared on some occasions as we could not have eaten a meal each. The spa is fantastic and staff went out of their way to accomodate the wedding party and guests who wanted spa treatments, nails and hair done on the day of the wedding.
Would recommend to anyone who is on Daydream to book a Great Barrier Reef Trip. Although 225 dollars per person the experience of snorkeling out their and seeing another world under water is not to be missed and one which my family and I will never forget.

My husband and I was excited to leave the Island as we found our time here was disappointing. I'll start with our room, the mattress was so worn out the springs had collapsed and we had to get the manager out to flip it, It was never changed for a new one as promised, our air cond was broken finally getting fixed the day before we left & a juice in the fridge was out of date by 2 months. Everything was so expensive, we found it hard to keep occupied. I felt like we wasted money here. We hired a fishing boat & fishing gear, the fishing rods we could not use as the line had been on there for so long it keep getting tangled from previously being stretched so much, you could not wind the line in on one of them, they did not have lures available. The venue felt out dated. From talking to other people on the Island the vibe was the same as what we were thinking-disappointing!
