This is a very strange place!. The golf course is teriffic, a great challenge and very well maintained but the resort is dead. Aside from the fact that it is 20 miles from the nearest town (Proserpine) with no public transport, there are no guests. The main hotel (the Lodge) closed about two years ago with accomodation now being provided in the serviced units, which are comfortable and well kept. All facilities (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are provided at the swimming pool bar and restaurant.
The staff are professional, pleasant and are doing a great job in what must be a demoralising ghost town environment.
There are huge plans for Laguan Quays (including 2 new golf course and an international airport) but at the moment it is a deserted backwater. If you want a very quiet golf holiday this is the place for you.
