This is a excellent must see family operated park, the staff are very friendly & more than willing to answer any questions. There is the owners private collection of artefacts collect over a life time. The aquatic displays are great and the collection of breading crocodiles from around the world is a must see. You can even pat a baby croc. Do not miss this attraction on Green Island on your full day visit.

Great place to visit and see Croc's up very close. Make sure you go during feeding time well worth it and the guide is fantastic and really know's the reptiles. If you are lucky enough to stay on the Island you only have to pay once and can return with your ticket as many times as you like, even though it is separate from the resort you can book it to your room. If you are a day tripper it's worth making the time to go. Very impressed and hopefully will return.

In stark opposition to the international vibe of the resort, this little gem of Green Island has Australia written all over it:
Marineland Melanesia is an all-in-one souvenir shop, museum, aquarium and crocodile farm, with a characteristic 'retro' and yet genuine feeling that only family-run businesses have.
The admission ticket allows unlimited entry for resort guests, offering a nice diversion when looking for things to do on the island.
Don't be put off by the souvenir display at the entrance (pssst... some stuff is cheaper here....): beyond the gate you'll find a mini maritime museum, aquariums, a display of various Melanesian arts (mainly wooden statues), baby crocodiles, regular crocodiles, big crocodiles and staff that are passionate about them.
I recall myself saying 'wow this thing is huge', when standing 1/2m away from Cassius' snout...by the way he's got one leg missing but he doesn't seem to care much.
Our daughters were genuinely impressed by the crocodile display and even today, when looking at the pictures, they remember it with one word: awesome.
Marineland Melanesia is definitely worth a visit. It should be compulsory for families with kids, recommended for others.

If ever you're lucky enough to visit Green Island then a trip to Marineland Melanesia is an absolute must! Make sure you time it right to get in a croc feed (there are 2 each day I think) because they are truly spectacular. This place isn't owned by Green Island Resort so it's not included in the price of your stay. I think a ticket cost us something like $9 each. However, you can go back as many times as you like throughout your stay once you've bought one ticket. It also offers you a 10% discount in the gift shop - great for souvenirs and pressies to take home! This is well worth the money and we went twice during our 3 day stay. The crocodiles are scarily close to you but thankfully behind a little caging..! The guys working in the sanctuary like to give them a bit of exercise for their food, as they would have in the wild, and so the display they put on is incredible. They have 12ft crocs jumping virtually all the way out of the water for their food. It's just something you'll probably never get to see anywhere else. And for the sake of $9 it's an absolute bargain. If we were staying on the island for longer I'm sure we would have returned again every day of our stay, and never got bored of watching the croc feed. We absolutely loved it! Don't miss it.
