I went to visit with friends who had booked this accommodation from the US. After arriving at the place (in a driving rain) I could see the kinds of problems that went undisclosed to them prior to booking.
The resort's website says "WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE? Temperatures range between 18-24 degrees in the winter months June/July to 28-32 degrees in summer February/March. Any time on Bedarra Island is just beautiful." This failed to disclose that January thru March is cyclone and rainy season in this part of Queensland. Any time on Bedarra ISN'T beautiful, and a partial refund was negotiated because of this falsehood.
The resort is also on the "windward" side of the island. The windward side of any island is going to be windy and uncomfortable, with high surf and dangerous swimming conditions.
The staff was pleasant, but clearly not very well trained in "five star service". The interior had some nice features, but was poorly maintained with some cheap fittings and could have been much cleaner. Tried to contact to the owners but was told that they don't speak to guests.
Finally, the "price" for this resort can be very different based on where you try to book it. Daily rate varied by almost US$500 - at the highest quoted rates you will be extremely disappointed.
