Had three nights last week and was ideal so am going back this week for another three nights. Good value, central, clean, roomy enough. The staff were casual, polite and professional. Easy stroll along the strand and each day walked up capital hill, 20 mins to base and 15 minutes up, leisurely stroll down. Find the goat track to walk up via the south east corner of hill, really gets heart burning.

Stayed: February 2014, traveled with friends

Good size rooms, clean and comfortable. Only stayed one night and arrived late, however found that was able to access my room keys via safe, which was fine!

The best part was the balcony and the view of the ocean in the morning. Many places to eat around there too. Parking is a little sketchy as some already mentioned. However we were able to get a park on the street easy enough on a Tuesday night.

Room Tip: I stayed on the lever 6 and it was high enough for the street noise not to bother me

Stayed here for four nights in a horizon view room 1302 on the rockpool side which was overlooking the park where my Grandson was to be married, got a deal directly with hotel $480 , the only noise we heard was the ocean if we had the balcony doors open, comfy beds, lots of room and great wardrobe space, would stay there again.

I have stayed here several times now, purely for the view. Waking to the ocean view is something I make the most of, or a cold drink at day's end overlooking magnetic island, priceless.
The rooms are clean, spacious and everything I need for my overnight stay is available to me. One thing could be improved, but only if fussy, the shower water pressure (or lack thereof) could be improved, barely more then a trickle at times.
Spacious car park, but I do recommend parking in the early evening to avoid missing out on a space (i suspect locals visiting the bar/ restaurant next door may use this carpark), however there is street parking close by.

Room Tip: Try and park early to avoid missing out on a space. All rooms face the ocean, the higher the floor the better the view!!!

We stayed here for one night on a stop over, it was nice, old and a bit outdated but good value for money. Basic room with a clean shower. Suitable for a quick visit, I probably wouldn't like to stay here for more than one night. We had a room on the front of the hotel. Be ware, parking is terrible and it's probably best to find a carpark at the front on the Strand.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the front, you wake up to a beautiful view.
