Carpets with dirty stains and on the final morning spotted a cochroach scrambling across the wall above my bed. Not cool. An extra table really is required in this room as the desk is just not sufficient. Lucky I only stayed 2 nights, not worth staying any more than that here.

Disappointed there was only 2 really thick pillows which is fine if thats what you like however a choice of thick or thin would be better as I am a tummy sleeper and had to actually get up at 2am after struggling with the thick pillow and improvise with a stupid towel just to get some sleep. Bed is very firm as well. Great location for food though

Room clean upon arrival and serviced well. Weird that the bed was made with a sheet only though. Found a blanket in the cupboard and made the bed myself each night as the cleaner kept putting it away during the day haha

Only downside is location in relation to restaurants. Drove into Palmer Street each night for more variety (about 6 minutes). Had a nice steak one night in the hotels restaurant, though limited selection suitable for short stays only

No gym either; first business trip that I remembered to pack the runners but couldn't use them

First impressions were good, excellent reception staff and nice looking bar / pool area. Room was compact (king bed) with modern clean bathroom.

Disappointed at the servicing of the room as it didn't seem any cleaner than when I left it.

Dinner and breakfast were both distinctly average - I expected much better.

Still had a nice weekend overall.

Rooms are not very clearly marked. After a busy & long day arriving 7.30pm we were told of our room & given a plan. After 2o minutes of wandering around in the dark being very weary & nerves frazzled we could not find our room so had to find someone to show us where. It was a very lovely & spacious room not like some where the bathroom are very small. Upstairs rooms are hard to find as as nothing on ground floor tells you where they are. we have stayed there many times & always have trouble finding our room.

I have spoken to our Front Office staff and they share my disappointment. Please be assured all our staff members are willing to help guests to their rooms or with their luggage. We are also currently working on getting better signages to assist guests as well.

Comfortable rooms but outside it looks like a Motel complex when walking around. Due for some kind of refurb. Wouldn't like to stay here for a week or more, Convenient for a night or couple of nights.

Restaurant comfortable staff very attentive, David - we found to be very approachable and confident.

On arrival for some reason I was charged a Pre-Authorization Charge plus my Accommodation on Arrival. On later investigation reception had charged me the above mentioned. My advice is once you have checked in check your Available Funds because the Reception Staff don't advise that they take this large amount, It pays to double check. As I was caught on departure.

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake View Room away from the pool.

At Mercure Townsville, we charge an additional $50 over your accomodation charges to cover incidentals including mini-bar. This pre-authorisation is released back immediately upon check out if you were to use the same card. We strictly follow this procedure as per standard hotel practices.

The stay was generally comfortable and enjoyable. The room was a little smaller than expected and lacked comfortable chairs for relaxation. It did have a small table with two dining type chairs. No outdoor seating near our room. There were no benches in the room or bathroom for puttin items. We had to make sure the toilet did not keep running after flushing.The pool area was beautiful- warm water, clean, well appointed and relaxing. Dining facilities varied. The food was generally very nice and good variety although we did have a couple of minor mix-ups with our orders. Meals took considerable time to arrive but were freshly cooked. and enjoyable.
