I and my wife stayed this motel to care my premature baby in townsville hospital for three weeks because we live in Mount Isa. This motel do the patient assistance from Mount Isa hospital travel office directly about 30$ per person, so you can save your cost.

The location of this motel also very nice for career. Bus station is in front of motel and just one station need to go to the hospital. Stockland(shopping mall) is very close by walking to buy grocery and Ross River is just on the side, so you can take a rest.

All staffs were very kind. My wife were uncomfortable to move, so they were organized ground level room, supported the tableware for cooking. This motel has the paid washing machine too.

Best thing for long term carer is MacDonald house or Red Cross in townsville hospital, but if you do not have chance to use these accommodation (long waiting list), this motel is good choice.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at our motel. The hospital patient assistance scheme is a wonderful financial assistance to people in need requiring to stay local to the Townsville hospital. Cedar Lodge is the closest motel and has everything you would need. Thanks again from the team at Cedar Lodge Motel.

Having a daughter seriously ill in Townsville hospital, I plucked this motel from the web due to its close location. A short stay became 9 weeks during which time the friendship and advice that Bob and Margi ( the management team) gave us was a lifesaver.
The room was cleaned on a daily basis by 2 friendly ladies who would always check if we needed anything doing or topped up. The local bus stops just outside and a regular service runs both to the hospital and uni and also down to the town. Stockland shopping mal is just a short walk away with many stores, a woolworths and a Myer department store. The Ross river is a stroll up the road and the palmetum botanical gardens are close by, these were a welcome escape from reality to walk around. Overall, nice motel and quality friendly staff.

Having to do some work at James Cook Uni I checked the internet and there were no rooms left. Yet when I rang up the manager said that he was always going to find some way to fit me in. The hotel was full nearly each night, which also says a lot about the management of the place. Located within walking distance of the ever-expanding Stocklands shopping centre, with a bus stop outside where you can go straight to town and a 30 minutes walk to the University and Hospital, its positioning is very good. Unlike a lot of "big" hotels, wireless internet (and quite fast I must add) was complimentary. Having a microwave in the room meant you can buy cheap dinners and not have to spend too much going out as well. The manager was also very helpful and happy to have a chat about things, which is what you would hope from a small hotel. One small gripe is the lack of power points near the bed making it hard to use a laptop with the power connected. Overall a good experience and worthy of a return visit if I am there again.

We needed to stay in Townsville in a place close to the hospital, and Cedar Lodge Motel was on the list. I rang on Christmas Day to make an urgent booking due to a sick family member and was immediately sorted out. Our stay needed to be extended once, and then again, and then again, and eventually we stayed for 14 nights. Bob, the manager who we dealt with the most, was absolutely fantastic and very compassionate and accommodating. You can tell they are used to dealing with customers who have loved ones in hospital. The team are friendly, professional, compassionate, flexible, and go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. The lady who cleans the rooms does a fantastic job. The rooms are great value for money. Located in Aitkenvale, there are several bus routes to the hospital, with a bus stop conveniently located just outside the motel. In the next block there is Stockland Shopping Centre, and also several eating places. Our favourite was Tom's Tavern where there are specials on most nights of the week (you can't beat the $3 chicken schnitzel !!!). I can't thank the team enough at Cedar Lodge for looking after my family from the UK, and myself, during a difficult time with a sick relative. Knowing we were out-of-towners, Bob and his team helped us out to a level beyond our expectations. If coming to Townsville for pleasure, business, or for medical reasons at the Townsville Base Hospital, then this is the place to stay!!
