Description: This Gold Coast eatery features a range of authentic and well-priced Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes on the extensive menu. Indecisive diners might want to turn their attention to the substantial list of chef's specials. The Chef, Hue Trieu, has worked in the restaurant business since her teenage years. Cooking is true passion for her. She learned and developed her cooking skills from her family's restaurant in Vietnam as well in different Chinese and Thai restaurants in Germany. In 1993 She and her husband set up their first restaurant in Geelong, also named New Saigon and then the second one named Hi Hi restaurant, both were successful. Deeply impressed by Gold Coast's lovely weather and lifestyle, She and her family moved to Gold Coast in 2003 initially for early retirement but only 1 year later she missed the hospitality scene so much, so they decided to open New Saigon Restaurant in Gold Coast in April 2004. Although the position is not really ideal for a restaurant but thanks to the good support of regular local customers as well casual tourists, New Saigon Restaurant has established itself as a good place for authentic Vietnamese and Asian foods on the Coast.

If you want great tasting Vietnamese food , this is the place to go.....it is run by a husband and wife team. The food is so fresh and tasty it blows you away. The serving are great and can be shared. On a weekend you need to book as they get really busy, this restaurant is mainly serviced by locals. You have to try the Salt & Pepper Calamari ( Squid) it melts in your mouth, Crispy fried beef with plum sauce and their salads. They have a good but small selection of wine and beer but also BYO. Parking is easy as well.

Delicious authentic Vietnamese food just across the road from the Crowne Plaza hotel. It was very quiet in the restaurant on this particular visit however I have been told when it's busy it can be quite a wait on food. We didn't wait long at all tonight. The food was fresh and delicious. The fish sauce dressing served over the noodle salad was zingy and had the perfect hit of chilli. I will be back to try the pho sometime soon! I will be back to try lots more things!

Visited last night with the family - four adults and one 8 year old. If you are wanting atmosphere, this is probably not the place to dine in however the food was surprisingly spectacular. We ordered a range of dishes including mild red fish curry, ginger prawns, vietnamese prawn pancake and mongolian beef. Couldn't fault any of them (except maybe too much lettuce). Flavours were fantastic. Even the fussy 8 year old loved it! We are Gold Coast locals and will be coming back.
