Incredibly bad experience, first bad review I've ever given of a restaurant but unfortunately it deserves it. Waitress was sour, did not smile at us or make eye contact for the entire meal. Although that could be said of all the wait staff, they just did not want to be there. Now for the food: Wine was okay, had to pay $10 for an average glass of Merlot. Seafood selection was smoked salmon, seafood salad, oysters, mussels and prawns. Disappointingly, the mussels and prawns were overcooked and the oysters were tiny (think 20 cent coin size) and so sour I could only eat 2. The "crab" of the buffet wasn't brought out until after 7:30pm, when our early seating crowd (of around 40) was already leaving or on dessert. Awful timing. There was also satay chicken skewers, roast lamb and roast vegetables, lamb kofta, chicken curry, a vegetable medley and salads. The meat was awful, the chicken was dry and the lamb, though tender, was very gristly and fatty. The curry was a little tasteless, and the kofta was almost inedible. The vegetables, I have to say, were delicious (including the salads) but who goes to a buffet for the veggies? We certainly didn't! Finally, dessert. The cheese selection was tiny, just a few generic cheeses, some rice crackers and a few dried apricots. We liked the mousse, but the cake tasted like supermarket cake (actually supermarket cake prolley tastes better) and the "chocolate fountain" was just some sort of hot chocolate mix with marshmallows and lollies. I had grand ideas of flowing rich milk chocolate being poured over some fresh fruit skewers. Alas, there was no fresh fruit to be seen (apart from the sad looking "diced fruit" cups by the cakes). Best part of the evening (apart from leaving) was the funny, happy and friendly reception lady. Which is sad since we were actually there for dinner.
