Biarritz Apartments Gold Coast
Reviewed October 6, 2009

Had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was super. Admitted the bedrooms were a little old but the living arae and kitchen were superb. Lovely balcony overlooking the ocean and table/charis out there to eat on. had a bit of a problem getting back to hotel as Old Burleigh Road is in 2 parts but we found it easier to turn right out of car park and get onto main road. Beach across road and staff extremely friendly and helpful. Only there 4 days so did not need sheets changing.would recommend it every time. we will go there next time.

the only bad thing about this hotel suite was that the bins and sheets weren't changed often enough. but there was a rubbish dump where you could dump your own rubbish if you needed too. the master bedroom was beautifully done, as was the kitchen/lounge area. the down side of the master bedroom was that the en suite's window didn't shut at the top so there was an awful draft through the bedroom constantly. awesome views though and very close to the beach. we had a great stay!

This appartment block is on the far side of Old Burleigh, but still only 50 meters from the beach. The receptionists were all lovely and friendly as was the security guard who we had a good talk to the first night we were there.

Our room was a 2 bedroom appt on the 21st floor, 1st Ave side and the view was absolutely spectacular. The photos don't do it justice! There was a large dining area, a large lounge, a medium sized kitchen and a good sized utility room. The master bedroom was a large double room with a walk in wardrobe and ensuite with shower and the single room, while a little cramped (surprising with the size of the rest of the rooms) had a door onto the large balcony and a large wardrobe which well made up for it. The two bathrooms were a little compact but perfectly servicable and tidy, our only gripe was that the fittings were spherical so once your hand was wet you could not grip it and had to use a towel to turn them!

The lounge had a large TV with DVD player (which also played divx, always a bonus!) and the kitchen had a large fridge, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The dishwasher could really have done with replacing, while it still worked it was extremely loud - a little like a lawnmower - so we only used it when we were outside the appartment.

We had a car, so used the free secure parking (underground) but we also used the public transport, with bus stops right outside the door! You're withing walking distance of Surfers and Pacific Fair, and a number of other malls are withing close range, so you don't really need a car.

Over all the apartment was a little dated, but well appointed, comfortable and well layed out. The balcony wrapped the length of the lounge around to the single bedroom and fit the three of us on loungers easily, with room for more! The lounge also had mirrors on all walls which added to the dated feel, but later in the afternoon they became invaluable as they bounced the sunlight around the room, keeping it bright, even though the sun was on the other side of the building. The whole appartment had a light, clean and friendly feel and quickly came to feel like home.

Directly across from the building was private apartment block, which did admittedly block some of the view, however like I mentioned the balcony was very large and there were spectacular sea views for miles to each side, so it wasn't that much of a deal.

The only thing which did disappoint us was the indoor pool - though this was the fault of other guests and NOT the appartment! We stayed at the same time as a large family who basically took the pool room over for their kids... Which sounds harsh, however the kids were constantly bombing and belly flopping in both the spa and pool from around 5pm until closing time, which made it impossible for us to enjoy the spa more than 3 times in the 16 nights we were there. However, we were there in winter so I expect in summer, they'd be more inclined to be outside than in.

In all I loved the appartment and am already planning my return visit. You absolutely cannot beat this place for location, value and comfort.

I stayed here after Christmas with my family for a week. The room we had was on floor 19 and we were unlucky that the apartment was owned by a 92 year old that hadnt refurbished it at all. The pool and spa great, beach only one block away. literally 50m.

The apartments that are 3 bedroom are all very nice and new. The second time you come here they reception guarantee you will get a better room than last time which is good. Price was good too, other wise we wouldnt have stayed there ( my parents are cheap skates. Lol)

The manager was lovely too.

We had a very spacious renovated on the 7th floor. Tiled floors, modern furniture
and everything we needed. Close to all amenities but out of the main busy areas.
The kids loved the table tennis and pools. Great place to stay.

Our first time at the Biarritz was great. We stayed up on around the 16th floor or something, and had beautiful ocean views. We booked a 1 Bedroom apartment, and when we checked in, they had given us a 2 bedroom. Lovely leather recliners and lounge, modern furniture, air-con etc. We went back a year later with more extended family and ended up renting out 2 rooms for 7 nights again each. We think its a great place to say, right between Surfers and Broadbeach, only 1 small block back from direct access to the beach, and would definately go back again!

We had a 3 bedroom apartment which have the best views. You could lie on your bed and sea the ocean which I loved as It was very relaxing. The 3 Bedroom apartments lounge area and kitchen is generous and the master bedroom ishuge, you could easily fit another bed in the master bedroom. Outdoor pool a bit cold for
April so we mainly used the indoor heated pool. It's small so best used when not busy. We also used the Tennis court . 5 min walk to patrolled beach. Our apartment was dated though I didn't mind as the price was good.
