Myself, husband and 9 year old daughter stayed here at the beginning of November. We booked on a last minute booking website so ended up staying in two different apartment complexes. This was our second apartment, the first being Chevron Towers. We enjoyed both stays but would probably book at Crown Towers again because of the family atmosphere. Our daughter loved the pool, lagoon and pirate ship and could always find other children to play with. Our room was clean and tidy, the furniture was a little dated but not worn out so this didn't bother us. The kitchen was also well equipped. We had breakfast in the cafe downstairs a couple of times and this was well priced. We also ate in the Thai restaurant in the complex which was very good. The staff in the hotel were always friendly, and the tourist desk staff were also helpful and friendly. My husband used the gym and said it was better equipped than most hotel gyms he has used. The resort was less than a 10 minute stroll from the Cavill Mall and easy to catch any tourist buses. Highly recommend for families.

Have stayed here twice in the last year with my husband and 2 young preschoolers. First stay we LOVED!!! Our room was amazing with a recent refurbishment and very tastefully done
Very spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with lovely views over beach one side and river the other. The pool area is great. The inside pool is a lovely temperture so spent lots of time in there. The outside pool is gorgous with its own beach BUT unfortunately it is freezing cold so not many people use it. Kids love playing around on beach though and had pirate ship with slide which was better for the slightly older kids. Thai restaurant is highly recommended too - delicious!!!! Also beach is an easy 5 minute walk with an over -bridge to take you there.

Our second stay wasn't quite so good. Room was very dissapointing - it's owners didn't take quite so much pride. I was a little shocked so asked if there was any other rooms available and was taken to another room which was just as bad but lower so not such nice views. So having had such a good experience there the first time with our lovely room - the second stay was OK. Same nice roomy setup but just dated and a little shabby. Also I have to say the foyers on the room levels STINK!!!!!!!!! It's something to do with the rubbish shoots on each floor but I had to hold my breath until I got either into room or lift. Luckily room did not smell.

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at Crown Towers Resort. We had stayed there previously and were initially disapponted at the standard of the rooms in the rental pool which are obviously roughly treated by some occupants.

We were lucky enough to obtain a room direct from the owner and it was beautifully maintained, very clean and obviously taken care of. A world away from some of the rental units! The units are reasonably large as compared to most and all have wonderful views of either the sea or the hinterland.

The facilities are great, with a well set up gym, well maintained indoor and outdoor pools and spa. The kids were kept well occupied whilst I lazed in the sun.

They have a great cafe/restaurant in the foyer with a bar. One of the best Thai Restaurants on the coast is also on the premises and is well worth a visit and is very popular with the locals.

The security system, whilst difficult if you are holidaying with friend on other floors, provides peace of mind.

We have just returned from staying 7 nights at the Crown Towers Resort in Gold Coast. We actually booked our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment by contacting an owner direct and getting a really good room rate (saved about AUD$70 per night) in peak school holiday time.

The Resort itself is huge. We were on the 30th floor and had a fantastic view over the ocean (with 2 balconies - one from the master bedroom and one from the lounge). The apartment was large and nicely redecorated approximately 2 years ago. I must admit that the security system for the lifts is annoying if you are meeting other guests - your lift key only works for your floor and therefore you need to get other guests to come down to the lobby with their key to take you to their floor. Unfortunately the floor common ways did smell of garbage although there didn't appear to be any reason why - garbage disposal shoot was clear - am guessing it was in the carpet or something.

Although we had a great time, friends of ours booked direct with a private owner too and their apartment was of a lot less standard than ours - 10th floor and very shabby. Obviously it is up to each private owners when they renovate their apartments.

The beach pool area was very nice and we spent many hours out there - just need to be aware that you lost most of the sun by 3pm each day due to being shaded by buildings.

As for us, don't think we will return to the Gold Coast again - this was our 3rd visit and found it very seedy, quite dirty and restaurant standards low. But hey, the weather was brilliant!

We have just returned from a six night stay at the Crown Towers Apartments staying in a three bedroom apartment on the 17th floor. We stayed with my two younger children and my parents. We travel quite a lot and always stay in apartments as it's much easier with young kids. I was a little apprehensive about what the apartments would be like because so often you see great photographs on brochures and websites and when you arrive, the apartment or hotel is old and dated.

The foyer and pool area to the Crown Towers made us feel like we were in an Asian hotel, it was very impressive.

The pool side with the sandy beaches and palm trees was gorgeous and as good as it looks in the brochures, and great for kids, especially the pirate ship and slide. The only negative about the outdoor pool is that it was "freezing" at this time of year... not that my children seemed to mind, but I would only wade in up to my knees. There is however the indoor pool which is heated.

Our apartment was fantastic - very nicely decorated, very clean, and really spacious. I know that the apartments are privately owned and each apartment is different - we booked ours thorugh Barry Allen (Gold Coast Resorts Private Apartments) and would definitely stay there again. The balcony is a huge wrap around one, with absolutely fantastic views.

We find it hard going out in the evenings with the two little ones (3 years and 5 years), but because the apartments were so nice, and with the great views, we were quite happy staying in and getting take away - most nights from the two restaurants at the Crown Towers (the food from the Thai restaurant is fantastic).

Location was also great - across from the beach and a few minutes walk to the heart of Surfers Paradise - shops, cafes, resturants, supermarket etc.

The only other point to make is that it is a private apartment, so it's not like staying at a hotel where you can have room service or housekeeping every day. However, our housekeeper "Ann" was a phone call away and was extremely helpful and friendly. Our iron didn't work and we had a new one brought to us within the hour.

Would highly recommend and would return again.
