Owner description: The three-kilometer strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia's iconic beach, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up 'paradise' to millions. Throughout the year, our beach welcomes swimmers, joggers, surfers and strollers from around the Gold Coast, around Australia and around the World. There are a few simple things you can do to ensure that your day at Surfers Paradise beach is a safe and happy one. Always swim between the red and yellow flags. If the flags aren't up, it may not safe to swim, so always ask a lifeguard if it's safe to swim if you cannot see the flags. Check for additional beach signage, as this may change every day. Read the safety warnings. Check with a lifeguard about beach and water conditions if you're not sure it's safe. Put your hand up and stay calm if you get in trouble in the water. Stay sun safe: Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on sunglasses. Leave valuables at home or in your apartment.

“Really good clean beach and well patrolled.”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Yo can't complain about this beach. The council really look after it and there are miles of it so it was never crowded. The Lifesavers were doing an excellent job as well...just wish more people would pay attention to them.

“Clean beach and nice location”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Stayed right on Surfers Paradise beach during my stay in Gold coast. Was surprised to see it so empty for most of the day while a lot of tourists hang out around the mall area and off the beachfront eating, drinking and enjoying the wide shopping options. The weather in Gold coast is great in December - not too hot or cold and the skyline on this beach is the most impressive I've seen till date with such high rise buildings right on a beach front. A good see.
