This is a very small and unassuming restaurant set amongst the shops in the Chevron Renaissance complex.

We tried three of the starters and then shared a chicken and chorizo paella. All the dishes were excellent, although the highlight was the spicy prawns.

We'll be going back soon to try the deluxe paella which sounds excellent!

The restaurant allows BYOB.

We had a hard time looking for this restaurant and Chef Roberto came out looking for us and gave us directions. It was well worth the search. We took the Chef's recommendation of his deluxe paella. It was heavenly and my kids absolutely loved his penne bolognaise and croquette tapas! Absolutely brilliant!

We went out for Mothers Day & were quite surprised by the look of the restaurant as we approached. Rather small & plain looking. We ordered tapas & paella and it was all delightful. The staff were friendly & very helpful in making sure we selected enough food without going overboard. We'll be going back for more!

After reading some of the glowing reviews about Matador while on holidays recently, I was a little surprised at its unassuming exterior. There is little doubt we would have wandered past without a second glance - but wow, I'm SO glad we gave it a chance. We had the deluxe paella and sangria which were both delicious - fresh, traditional Spanish, stuffed full of yummy ingredients. The service was perfect - prompt, attentive and very welcoming. There are a million eateries in Surfers and this place is one in a million. I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal - the food is sensational. I wish it was my local, I'd eat there every week!

A small restaurant at the bottom of Chevron Towers, we almost walked past as it was empty at the time, however, we put our trust in previous review and thought we'd give it a shot. So glad we did, the deluxe paella & sangria was amazing. We'll definitely be back.
