Great food, we ordered the degustation with matching wines. All courses were good, but the standout for us was the chicken. Wines were lovely, so glad we selected the matching ones for each course. Great restaurant location & we were lucky enough to have a window seat. A couple of small tweaks would have made the experience comparable to other fine dining restaurants, there were a couple of small disappointments which took the shine off for us:
-We had a cocktail and were then left in the bar for 40 mins with no-one paying us a second glance. We eventully got bored of waiting for a look at the food menu and/or a getting a new cocktail so we got up to find a waiter and asked to be seated. A first for us in a hatted restaurant.
-No explanation of the wines or food. When we asked a question about one of the grapes (we hadn't heard of) the waitress didn't know what it was and had to ask someone. Also it would have been nice to know why they'd selected each wine, not just repeating the label/menu. Same with food, no explanations.
A bit more attentiveness and that almost sixth-sense-like anticipation that really great restaurants have and it would have made the whole experience much more enjoyable.
