The apartments are old, but the view and location were great. Just far enough from Cavill to be quiet, yet still easy walking distance. Plenty of facilities, just not terribly modern. Would stay there again, but would check price against newer apartments.

  • Liked — the view

I agree 100% with other comments made. My husband & I decided to splurge and spend more money staying in a 4.5 star apartment. Well.....it wasn't worth the money. It's not really that central to the main shops & there are so many more options on the Gold Coast that are closer to central Surfers Paradise (Cavil avenue) and many more that are new. This apartment block looks like it's of the older style and I thought our apartment could use a renovation. Yes, the view is great, but this is the only thing we found outstanding, but then again you can get this elsewhere.

  • Liked — The view, all rooms have water views
  • Disliked — Not very comfortable, needs renovation.

We have just returned from a 3 week trip to Australia, where we stayed for 3 nights at this place and regretted it from the minute we arrived.

We tried to check in at 5.20pm on a Friday afternoon and the place was closed up. Doors locked and everything shuttered. A resident came in so we managed to get inside to find Roger the manager (or maybe he was the handyman as we found him with his tool box the next day) trying to escape from a hatch under the reception desk. We told him we had been trying to ring the night button for 10 minutes, even though it was only late afternoon, and were told that it didn't work and he wanted to get off home.( He lives in the ground floor appartment!) He thrust the envelope with keys into our hand and off he went to try and fix the night phone, telling us to register the next day.
A few of the problems we encountered:
The extra bed had no bed linen
Not enough towels
A tumble dryer that would not turn itself off because the timer was broken
No air conditioning and ineffective ceiling fans
Very poor cleaning - the soap dish in one shower was thick in old used soap
Ants everyhwere
A cockroach on the kitchen worktop
Freezer door was open when we arrived, so that was no good for half a day while it cooled again
The place is on the Esplenade, the main road along the sea front and every night the locals parade up and down in their cars creating noise until well into the early hours (4am!)So sleeping with the window open to try and reduce the temperature inside is not a good idea.
There are better places to stay than this in Surfers Paradise, and there are far better places to stay around Brisbane than Surfers Paradise as well. We won't return to either the accommodation or the resort.

I couldn't agree more with the previous contributor who found these apartments run down and dirty. The view is the only thing going for this apartment block. We rejected the first apartment allocated to us and when we tried to get a refund because we were dissatisfied, we were informed that it would be extremely difficult and at the total discretion of the management. As a consequence we reluctantly accepted the only other apartment available which was slightly better but still not up to 4 star standard. We would never recommend this place to anyone. This was a very bad experience!

My family stayed for 7 nights on the 15th floor, in a supposedly 4.5star room. The only good thing about our room was the view. The apartment was run down and dirty. Never again for us or any one we can warn.
