Booked a Jetstar holiday including 3 nights at the Watermark. Hotel is perfectly located near the beach and town centre (without being too busy/noisy). Rooms were nice and very clean, good gym/swimming pool/spa, staff were very helpful. Great base to explore the theme parks.

Tip 1 - go to Palazzo Versace for dinner, it was superb
Tip 2 - don't fly Jetstar. They cancelled our return flight from GC and we had to make our own way to Brisbane airport instead at 4am!!

We arrived at Surfers Paradise to an awful apartment, so at 6pm we started looking for a good, average priced, well located hotel. We went to the Courtyard by Marriot, but was fully booked, so they told us about the Watermark, which I had not even considered because it looked expensive from the outside. We went there and got the last room, which was a standard, two queen beds, third floor, for a very reasonable price. The bellboy took me to it, all the while apologyzing because it was not as renovated and as nice as the ones located in upper floors. I was scared until I went inside. It was VERY nice, looked VERY clean and I found it to be very nicely decorated and not tired at all (as many well known hotels that I stayed in throughout Australia). The service was great and everything worked out perfectly. As little as I enjoyed Surfers Paradise (which is boring, closes early and is not very nice, despite people refering to it as "Miami"), I really liked this hotel and made my stay much better in every way possible.

Great hotel. Excellent obliging staff who went out of their way to help us. Great location and excellent breakfast, pay before you stay and save half the cost. Room was lovely, only regret was we didn't have longer to enjoy the place.

Had a lovely stay at the Watermark. Hotel is in a great location with just a short walk to the beach. All the main highlights of Surfers Paradise Boulevard are just a short walk from the hotel. We upgraded to club level but I do feel this was a little overpriced for what you got. We had access to a club room but the facilities here are fairly basic. The breakfast is delicious and the staff are lovely in Club but there is only tea/coffee available during the day with limited canapes and drinks for a short time in the evening. There are two good pools in the hotel and the spa is well worth a visit. Would stay here again at the right price. We did have free valet parking with club and this was a real treat.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of January, and found it to be completely pleasant with no problems at all.

General: Staff were friendly, hotel was spotless, both pools were great and very clean.

Room: Stayed in a 'deluxe' room which is supposed to be 5 star. Whilst room was fine, clean, housekeepers replenished everything daily, it was very small for a deluxe room (I'm assuming their superior & standard rooms must be the same size), so wasn't quite sure what exactly we were paying deluxe prices for. However we had an ocean-facing room which was fantastic and the deluxe rooms are higher up (floors 14 and above I think) so you do get a better view.

Food: average room service but fantastic buffet breakfast. Chefs were incredibly friendly and made the best omelettes! We had to leave early the final morning and the buffet wasn't open, so staff ensured we had a breakfast box at reception when we checked out. Very efficient.

Location: Was worried about this from other reviews, but we loved the location. Less than 5min walk to beach, take out & cafes everywhere, maybe 10mins to cavill ave which is a really easy walk.

Transport: highly recommend the Gold Coast shuttle freedom pass for airport returns & theme park transfers.
