My partner and I stayed at the Outrigger Sun City late July. We were there for seven nights and stayed in a one bedroom apartment. We were lucky enough to be on the 29th floor and had amazing views of the ocean and gold coast.
The room was spacious and very clean. All facilities that you would expect from a hotel where available (room service, in room movies, internet) and reasonably priced.
As we stayed in the winter we couldn't swim in the main pool but the indoor pool was nice and warm and very big. There is also an indoor spa but the outside spa had a very nice ambience.
The buffet breakfast was fantastic value at $15 each with lots to choose from. Bus stop is two minute walk across the road and its only a five minute walk to the heart of Surfers Paradise. I wouldn't worry about the "motorway", even though its called Gold Coast Highway you could easily cross the road without having to wait for the crossing at the lights.
We would deffinetly stay again and if the Outrigger decide to do a bit of a spuce up it would be a great five star hotel but its very worthy of its 4.5 star current rating.

Stayed in an one bedroom apartment on the 9th floor for three nights.

Location - 10 minute walk to Surfers, since it is located right next to a motorway we found the traffic to be noisy and woke us up early in the mornings
Room - great layout but could have been cleaner especially in the bathroom and kitchen. After a day we noticed a smell and realised the people that stayed before had put some prawns down the waste master.
Food - our package included a buffet breakfast which we found to be very nice with lots of variety.

If I was going to visit the Gold Coast again I would stay in Broadbeach were it is more relaxing, better restaurants and not so crowded.

We stayed at the Outrigger Sun City in July 2006 (2 Adults, 2 Children) We enjoyed our stay there. We found the rooms clean and modern. We stayed in the 1 Bedroom suite on the 10th floor . The views were wonderful of the ocean and the rooms were big. We did look inside one of the hotel room and they were very small, so for longer stays I recommend upgrading to a suite. The staff were friendly and the resort resturant was handy for times when you couldnt be bothered going out to tea. We will stay there again.

Lovely hotel and what an amazing resort. We had a one bedroom apartment on the 20th floor and it was lovely everything we needed was provided. The staff were friendly and ever so helpful. We didnt get a chance to use the pools but they looked lovely and clean. Really don't have anything negative to say about the resort. Enjoy it and enjoy the views.

We have just returned from a week at the Outrigger Sun City Resort at Surfers Paradise & have nothing but praise to give. The 3 pools & 2 spas are fantastic as are the 2 waterslides, for both adults & kids. The indoor pool & spa are terrific especially if it rains. There is also a coffee shop & bar right near the pool with a pool table & jukebox. Nothing like sitting back relaxing & drinking a cappucino or having a drink whilst watching the kids swim!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 10th floor & found it to be great. It was ready on arrival, perfectly clean, airconditioned, a generous size for a family & had a kitchen & laundry in the apartment which is very handy. The restaurant food is lovely & also offers room service as well as a breakfast buffet & lunch menu (delivered poolside if required). It is a quick short walk to the beach & in walking distance to the main surfers paradise shopping area. The surrounds, gardens, pools, apartment & staff were all fantastic. My only complaint would be you get a bit of traffic noise being in the busy part of the Gold Coast but the resort facilities more than truly make up for that. Can't wait to go back again!!
