We stayed at Legends Mantra as part of our timeshare exchange. The room was very modern and in as new condition. It was a one bedroom room and had a lovely freestanding bath in the bathroom. Unfortunately there is no where to put clothes out rather than living out of your case - there are some narrow shelves under the TV but is not the tidiest place to put your clothes and underware out in the open. There is a closet for hanging clothes with a few coat hangers supplied. It was also disappointing that the room viewed the city and mountains rather than the water but we did get to see the hot air balloons flying in the mornings with our view. This side was quite noisy from about 6.30 with what sounded like bins collection/delivery somewhere but the road is quite quiet from traffic after this time and during the night. It's a very central position to Cavill Ave, which is only a short few minute walk with a wide variety of food eating spots.

Not recommended unless you are under twenty! Very old and shabby hotel. Beds extremely soft and uncomfortable. Only a sheet and a very thin cover for the bed. Asked for blankets and was provided with ugly polyester blankets that had been washed a thousand times and were all bobbly and static!!! Carpets in the bedroom looked filthy. Had to request slippers. Room very small, no comfortable chair to sit on. Bathroom minute. Nowhere to hang towels or put toiletries on. Bathroom also smelt of sewers.
Hotel dining facilities awful. Didn’t dare try the dining room after the cafe food. Salads have very little dressing, Thai beef skewers were tough grisly chunks of tasteless meat! Coffee was awful. No decent bar - that was part of the cafe.
Room service was the worst. Came back on the first day to find the room was only half done! They had replenished the towels and soap. Not bothered to tidy up. All the beds were unmade and mugs were not cleaned. The telephone was completely dead. I reported it twice before it was fixed. Oh I was also told they don’t wash out mugs etc and to put it in the dishwasher which was provided in the drawer. Great if there was a dishwasher- I couldn’t find it
Only good thing was it had a nice view of ocean - but even that was too small to enjoy. Room for only one to sit, but it’s a double room!!!

i had a 2 day seminar here recently with a dinner on the first night. Very friendly and attentive service here by staff. Chef Johnny catered for our dinner and did a stunning job- beautiful Indiana themed banquet. We just experienced two days at Mantra Legends in Surfers and it was sensational. Our conference was a HUGE success the functions team were outstanding and the customer service was second to none. Nothing was an issue, if the room was too room they adjusted it, if we wanted to change our scheduled morning tea time that was fine. They bent over backwards for us and made us feel like VIPs. It was a small conference with only 12 people in total and we had the Phoenix Function room which worked out great. The audio visual worked perfectly and the WIFI had a strong connection. This is important when presenting.
I would highly recommend this location for any organisation looking to hold a seminar or team function. The location is also great only 300m walk from the beach.

We spent 4 days last week at this hotel and loved the location and this hotel. We stayed in a spa suite. Rooms are dated but clean and spacious. We had room 2109 and if I stayed again I wouldn’t ask for this room as you hear the mechanics of the lift well everytime it’s used. But aside from that it was great.
