normally I would check the hotel reviews here at tripadvisor prior to booking accomodation. but this time I thought of taking chances and booked this hotel through the Qantas website...not until I paid for our accomodation that I found out that this hotel is #2 out of 83 hotels at surfer's paradise, so my expectations were quite high and I am happy to say that we were not disappointed.

pros
-very good location, it is a block or two away from the beach and shopping centers (btw, it is always late night shopping at the Gold Coast!)
-friendly and polite staff, check-in & check-out was a breeze
-the attention to detail is extra ordinary, the mini bar was very different from other hotels that i've been to, there was a nespresso machine in our room with 3 different coffee pods to choose from and almost every thing was custom made to match the theme of the hotel
-the bed and pillows were very comfortable, it felt as comfortable as my own bed
-parking was cheap! we were charged $8/day
-stingray lounge was a good place to drink & dance the night away, the DJ had a very good song selection
-and of course the view was to die for

cons
-the only negative point that i can think of was the parking space. it was a bit crowded last weeknd (maybe because it was halloween weekend) and they had a bit of renovation going on in the basement parking. i believe the stingray lounge is one of the newer clubs at surfers paradise so it was quite a popular place to hang out on a saturday night. the good thing was being a guest in the hotel, we were given priority parking :-)

We would definitely stay at this hotel next time we are in Gold Coast

I booked 2 nights with their 'come out and play' package, including 2 nights mountain river view room, 2 buffet breakfast and one dinner at Bazaar restaurant.

The check-in process was quick and efficient. We were given a room on level eight. The lemonade was complimentary. It took a long time for the lemonade to arrive. We need to call the reception to remind them as we prepared to go out for dinner. The room next door had loud music on and we can hear the beat and music. On the first night, I heard a couple arguing in the corridor near 1am, then half an hour later, it was the false fire alarm. The bed was so soft it felt like a water bed. The room also had condom for sale on the snack bar. The room looks nice but the atmosphere was like a love hotel. When I went to the lobby on both nights, there were groups of young girls around and music from the Stingray bar was loud. It was too close to the lift. I can also hear the music from my balcony.

The hotel wasn't that bad, however it is not a hotel for business travelers, couples or families, especially if you need a comfy firm bed, quiet place to stay and nice pool. It was just too noisy. There was no bathtub and the bathroom was small. The room was very clean.

The food at the restaurant was good, especially the breakfast. However, the buffet dinner was a bit overrated. Strong flavor and it may suit everyone's taste.

One night is enough. I felt bad staying there for the second night. What a mistake.

Just not a place for families. Great If you are a partygoer.

When you are welcomed by a porter in sky blue shorts and shirt and when you find a free supply of condoms in your room you know this is not your average accommodation place. The welcoming drink was lemon juice not "freshly squeezed" but squeezed before your eyes. Our room was on the north east side facing north along the beach so we had a beautiful view of the surf and sea. You can walk to the Renaissance shopping centre and bus route is just outside (we had no car). The meals were good - the restaurant is called "Bazaar" and lives up to its name by having al dishes available for self service although my wife had steak and it was delivered perfectly cooked. Although there were functions while we were there, we were not disturbed by noise etc. But we were on the 21st floor - the view was terrific

Room Tip: the horth east facing rooms get the sun and a view up the coast (the other side faces the mountains)

Our first impression of QT was as we drove up to the front drop-off area to be greeted by a "bellboy" wearing a pine-striped suit jacket with board shorts - we knew straight away that this wasn't going to be your stock standard stay at a Gold Coast hotel.

The bellboy was articulate and explained the parking and check-in procedure, took our bags to our room, and above all, set the mood for the stay. The check-in staff were fantastic and we were greeted by several staff on the (short) walk from the carpark lift to check-in counter, all who offered to help carry our remaining belongings. We were told by the checkin staff that complimentary lemonade would be delivered to the room "straight away" and although our bags were there waiting for us (thankyou) the lemonade was over half an hour before we decided to head to Stingray bar to have a drink. (in QT's defence - there was a note that they had been when we returned)

The stingray bar unfortunately was our only negative staff comment and unfortunately the staff in the bar did not live up to the same standards that the rest of the hotel presents itself with. I am unsure whether the bar is staffed or trained by the same person as the rest of the hotel and would interested to find out?

Rooms were great, again not 100% but like everything at the hotel, QT have the "deal breakers" right and have left the non deal breakers to work on. The bed was great, room size great, tv great, ocean-views great - all the important things were done well and the smaller things that weren't quite perfect didn't seem to matter because QT had got the important things right. Room service as you would expect and if you do get room service my recommendation is the Flourless Chocolate Cake - Amazing!!

Breakfast was done so well, friendly staff who explained the buffet and again everything was fun and a little bit quirky which made for a great experience - if you stay at QT, make sure you try the breakfast at least once..you wont be disappointed.

Overall, QT provided a refreshing change from the stock standard hotels that you come to expect and also provides great value for money, the staff are amazing (bar staff excluded- sorry) and things that matter have all the boxes ticked. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Ocean view room and would recommend paying the small surcharge for this.

Had a two night stay over Friday and Saturday night, and can comfortably say that will return to the QT Gold Coast on any future visits to the area.

Highlight would be upon arriving in the room, we were greeted with a lovely surprise of home-made lemonade supplies which provided a lovely addition to watching the sunset from the balcony.

Restaurant recommendation would be Yamagen for dinner, and Bazaar for breakfast. Breakfast was overwhelming in terms of choice, and certainly something that you must include within your visit.

The whole experience wasn't without its problems, which included a very 'clunky' experience in the Stingray bar (no service, lost order.. you get the picture), and car parking over crowding... however, on both occasions when the concerns were raised, the team provided appropriate solutions and fixed the problems with an apology and quick action.

Room Tip: Mountain and river view rooms are still spectacular... and can help to keep the cost down a little.

One of my friends and i decided we wanted a night out on the goldie. This was one of the cheaper hotels without it being a shambles. Lovely hotel and amazing room. The features of the room are great....very comfy bed as well!
The pool is a little on the small side, but who needs a big pool when the cocktails are so yummy!
great stay....

We stayed here with 2kid's for 3 nights in total, during Gold Coast 600.
The staff are very accommodating, have excellent customer service nothing is a problem. We checked back in on the Sunday before 10am,on our way to the track, they took our bag advised us of room no/ and on return that evening our bag was in our room.
We booked a twin room, 2queen beds good size room and great bathroom (walk in shower).Room service has good variety. Fixx
In lobby has great coffee and snacks.
Pool area was great need to be supervised if under 16.They have a couple of different restaurants all well priced.
Our favorite had to be Bazaar for brekki, our kids are still talking about it:-)
There's something for everyone and variety I haven't seen in a long time and reasonably priced.
We have travelled a fair bit throughout Asia/Pacific and this is the best Hotel in Australia and the buffet brekki in the top 3 we've had in all our travels.
Car parking available $8 per day under hotel only for guests.Level 2 had guest washer & dryer available $2 each cycle very handy.
We'll be back:-)
