“One of our favorites! LOVE this palce!”

We spent our first two nights of our honeymoon here last year & did not want to leave! Hotel is about 30 minutes on the bus from Gold Coast airport...although a long ride, it was nice to see the city & different places on the way. Hotel is far out of Surfers Paradise "city" itself, which is ok, because its a resort, so once we arrive, we did not have to leave. We stayed for two nights and wished we had stayed for longer. The hotel foyer on arrival had a WOW factor. The foyer is open & grand. The room we were in was on a high floor so it had great views of the mountains & ocean. We spent most of our time either in the restaurants or at the lagoon. It was "cold" for the locals, but for us, it was perfect. there was hardly anyone using the lagoon. Had to pay for equiptment rental, but worth it for the experience of scuba diving with the fish. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. In the morning, join the crowd at fish feeding time - that was fun. Great resort for a romantic getaway or a family vacation alike. We would definitely be back.

Fantastic 5 star hotel, located about 2 small blocks away from the main beach in Surfers Paradise. The hotel site has its own Salt Water Lagoon which I already miss swimming in every day, which also contained some tropical fish if you prefer to do some snorkeling. The view is amazing and I was lucky enough to have a spectacular view of the main beach area. It has a poolside bar, and an extremely good lagoon restaurant in which I enjoyed many a meal while I stayed there. It also has a great gym stocked with pretty much all the training equipment you could possibly need, as well as a tennis court. The hotel itself is located within walking distance of two main shopping areas as well as a short bus ride away from Seaworld. My stay there was superb, I can't rate this hotel highly enough.

As soon as we entered the hotel lobby we knew we were in for a wonderful stay. We arrived 2 hours before check-in but were immediately showed into our room. This is where we first met Joe the concierge when he brought up our bags. He is an absolute pleasure and made our stay all the more fun whenever we bumped into him for a chat.
The Salt Water Lagoon Pool is absolutely stunning. Whether you want to relax on the sand, wade in the shallows or snorkel with the tropical fish - I guarantee this will amaze. The waterfall is wonderful and so is the array of tropical fish.
The other pool is a chlorinated pool that seems to go on and on. It has a 'caved' section so you can swim in the shade to hide from the rays and is home to 2 spas. There is also a pool bar with a nice selection of cocktails.
It is here we are greeted for the first time by one of the many bearded water dragons that reside on the hotel grounds. They are very cute.
I recommend the Breakfast Buffet and the Seafood Buffet for lunch or dinner! YUM!
Our room was a Hinterland view room on the 24th floor but when we stepped out on the balcony we were pleasantly suprised to have a view of Surfers Paradise, the Beach and the hinterlands.
The King Size Bed is to die for and a guaranteed sound sleep is awaiting.
I always thought Gold Coast was a once every few years holiday destination but we are already planning on going back for a longer stay next year.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

The Marriott Resort Surfers Paradise is fabulous, we have stayed there numerous times, it's such a fantastic place to go and feel the stress of daily life melt away. From the grand entrance and gorgeous scent of the lobby through to the AMAZING lagoon and pools, you barely need to leave the resort. The restaurants and bar are nice too. Staff are very friendly and helpful too.

Recommend getting an ocean view room if dollars permit; its great having a balcony over the lagoon.

Is a great destination either for a romantic getaway, or for a family holiday - in the warmer months the kids can spend all day on the lagoon beach and inflatables to float on can be hired for a small cost. There's also a kids club but only in Queensland school holidays. We went at Easter one year and there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids which was fun.

Stay here if you can. You will not want to go home!

Great place to stay. We arrived from an overnight flight at 7am and were able to check in as soon as we got there. Very comfortable and clean rooms with nice view. Pool area really nice with "beach" and snorkeling area. Would have been very flash when it first opened which is obviously some time ago now but still very pleasant and good value for money.

The pools are very nice with lots of places to sit in the shade. The pina coladas by the pool were also very nice. The pool area is filled with (very noisy) children, including one who bomb dived into the very small spa while the two of us were sitting in there.

Our room was extraordinarily noisy. We were woken up on the first morning at 6:20 by a whinging child in the adjoining room. The next night at 11:30, we were woken up by the people in the adjoining room on the other side while they decided if they would "get summink to eat or go clubbing". The debate continued for about 20 minutes until doors were slammed and we can only assume they decided on the clubbing option as we heard them return at 3:00am. Any noise from televisions in rooms nearby could be heard as if it was in our room.

The service in the hotel was excellent. Check in was friendly and efficient (if you don't mind $100 for each night being charged to your credit card for any possible incidentals).

The redeeming feature was the pool, but don't expect to get much sleep.

I wanted to stay at this Hotel for my birthday as I had previously stayed at the Marriott in Hawaii and had the most wonderful stay thanks to the Hotel Manager.
I emailed the Hotel Manager to organise my booking at this Hotel and explained it was a special occassion and would love an upgrade if possible. I was advised that they would be happy to look at any opportunities closer to the date, but the next day was advised that they could not offer any upgrade. The room rate was still quite expensive $299 per night and did not include breakfast, I thought they may have offered us this. I know an upgrade is not a right but we were looked after so well in Hawaii I had really just assumed we would be looked after here too. I was very very wrong, this hotel may be lovely but they are all about making money, not looking after their guests, they were holding off to see if they could get more money from the upgraded rooms than $299, as one reveiw mentions you do not get the warm fuzzy feeling in dealing with this hotel at all. I actually mentioned that to them but no response. There were much more affordable hotels and apartments on the Gold Coast but my family and myself really love the Marriott hospitality, or so we had thought, I emailed the General Manager and asked was there anything we could do for my birthday and his curt and rude response is not to be believed so I am posting it here for all to see how they couldnt care less about their guests.

As stated - we are not able to offer you a free upgrade to a suite -

We now consider this matter closed and are unable to asist your further

Yours Sincerely
General Manager

I emailed back the Marriott values for example -"Do Whatever it Takes to Take Care of the Customer" and "Use their creativity to find new ways to meet the needs of customers" but of coarse there was no reply.
They were not at all interested in offering any other suggestions or following the Marriott Core Values and just said the matter is closed, of coarse I have shown all my colleagues and friends this horrid response and just wanted to spare any one else going through the heartache I did with this hotel. It is just not worth it
