We had an absolutely great short stay at the Marriott. And the buffet was to die for. My son had his wedding there and we could not have wished for better.
We all ended up around the pool after and the kids were in the water exploring all the great hiding places in this wonderful pool.

Room Tip: Choose one overlooking the pool area

We went for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and we were very happy the hotel. Our bathroom could use a little work, but it was easy to over look this, since everything was very nice. The hotel was within walking distance from the city center/downtown area. We really enjoyed the pools and gardens, though they were quite busy on the weekends, and there are not enough lounge chairs for all of the guests. This is a great option for families who want to give their kids an ocean/beach experience but do not want the worries that come along with going to the beach.

Room Tip: The hotel charges extra for the ocean views, but since it is a few blocks inland, the view is not th...

Happy anniversary from the team! Thank you for choosing to celebrate your special occasion here at our resort.

We are glad you enjoyed all our resort has to offer during your stay and thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience.

I am pleased to advise that some additional lounges have recently been added around the lagoon area, with more to be purchased by the end of this month before the Christmas school holiday period begins.

We hope that you will have the opportunity to come back to the resort, maybe even for your next anniversary.

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Surfers Paradise for the third time in October. We have not been disappointed yet. The hotel is beautiful. We have stayed in many hotels that claim to be 5 star and they don't compare with the Marriott hotels ( we have stayed in the Marriott Sydney and Hollywood California) Fantastic pool which has a reef which you can snorkel and swim with the fish, and a very large fresh water pool also. The rooms are beautifully appointed large bathrooms are also a bonus. The Buffett breakfast is one of the best we have had. Great selection of food. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody.

Room Tip: Hinterland views are great if you like city lights ocean view rooms if you like a few lights more wa...

This place was incredible. From the moment we checked in we were greeted as elite members with a rapid check in (room already assigned and ready). The customer service was great and the hotel itself is very nice. The lobby is awesome and the rooms are very good. The pool facilities and the salt water fake beach were really cool. Not 10 minutes after we set up at the pool we were greeted by the pool staff and provided with menus and drink options. highly recommend!

Let me start by saying that as of yet my family and I have not yet stayed at the Marriott, and based on our interaction with its reservation staff it is unlikely that we will any time soon. We have 2 children, aged 5 and 3, and based on other recommendations and the fact that the Marriott has an excellent pool facility we were looking forward to spending a week there at the end of January 2013. As working professionals we love to get away with the kids in a luxurious resort where we can all spend a busy day together, and then relax in a comfortable room in the evening. To make this as enjoyable as possible we were interested in booking 2 interconnecting rooms, and this is as far as we got. ON explaining to the reservation staff that we wanted to book a suite with 2 bedrooms I was promptly informed that "we are a HOTEL, not an apartment complex". I explained that I understood this, and in fact that was very appealing to us (as we enjoy room service etc)and that we just wanted something with 2 bedrooms. We were happy to pay for either a suite or 2 interconnecting rooms, or whatever option they had that included 2 bedrooms. I was then informed that they whilst there were no such 2 bedroom suites in the hotel, they did have interconnecting rooms and we could REQUEST two of these. She explained that were was no guarantee that the 2 rooms we actually got when we arrived would actually be interconnecting however, and when I asked what we were supposed to do with 2 rooms that did not interconnect, I really got a lecture.

I was curtly informed that "Most parents prefer to sleep in the same room as their children anyway", and that as they would be busy at that time of year there was just no way to guarantee the interconnection rooms (even if i paid the early reservation rate requiring full payment up front). She went on to tell me that "travelling with children really isn't relaxing no matter what you do" and my explanation that we actually really enjoy travelling with the kids, but do appreciate a few hours to ourselves to enjoy such luxuries as a quiet meal together (from good room service) in an adjoining room once they have gone to sleep, really didn't help.

In the end she again confirmed that I could book two rooms but there was every chance they would not interconnect, and again "we are NOT an apartment complex" (which I fully understood prior to calling, and had been reminded by her several times). Understandably I did not make a reservation.

Whilst I am always open to parenting advice, in this instance I must say I do not agree with either of her enlightening tips. More importantly if this is the level of service that would be provided during an actual stay I must thank the reservations team for convincing us not to book. We are nonetheless disappointed, as the actual facilities look perfect for a great family stay (especially the pool), and our request for interconnecting rooms did not seem too excessive. Overall though our experience at resorts all over the world is that the attitude of the staff, and the service they provide, is the key to a great stay. In this regard without even staying I must give a poor rating.

Firstly, I would like to thank you very much for providing constructive feedback on the customer service you experienced at the time of reservation as this allows us to address any items that do require attention.

We would really love to have the opportunity to discuss your comments further with you over the phone so that we can get a clearer understanding of whether your experience was with our Property Reservations Department or with one of our Worldwide Reservations Agents, as this is not the level of service to which we aspire.

Please feel free to call my Executive Assistant on 07 5592 9829 at a convenient time to discuss further.

I look forward to speaking with you soon

This was our second stay at the Marriott Surfers Paradise. Absolute perfection. Room on the 28th floor was outstanding, classy, clean, high quality linen and toiletries. Every staff member we came in contact with were so courteous and friendly, especially in the Elandra lounge. Pool was awesome, clean, and well catered facilities. Did not want to leave. Already have recommended it to friends wanting to stay at Surfers. We'll be back again next year....it is going to be our annual treat !!

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for the Elandra suite. Breakfast (hot & cold), morning & afternoon tea, lunc...

Great Hotel, I have come to the Gold Coast on a 6 day conference/ break, the hotel is lovely, the rooms are clean, decorated with a beachhead theme, great catering, 5 mins from the beach and main shopping complex/street . Facilities are first rate, (hint- join the Marriott members club for free Wifi). I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: 1710 has a great view of the beach and mountains the best of both worlds

Our team are really pleased to hear your comments and we are glad that you enjoyed your recent stay while attending a conference at the resort.

The Marriott Rewards program does allow guests to enjoy complimentary WI FI at the resort along with other benefits to thank guests for their loyalty of Marriott so we look forward to welcoming you back again, hopefully in the not too distant future.
