Great food but not quite what we are used to in a teppanyaki restaurant - chef was nice but not the show that we are used to in Sydney., If you love Japanese food then this is a nice place to eat.

Thank Irangel

We took the kids here as shogun is closed and the kids absolutely live shogun. Well, what a let down... The chef had only one 'trick' which was to light an onion volcano, he didn't really bother, just lit the whole hot plate. There was no interaction or show other than watch him cook, which the kids didn't bother as it was boring. He then served all the food at once, so at $50 a banquet plate, we were all finished and went home within half an hour. Not worth the $200 at all. Very disappointing. I can't wait til shogun reopens!

Had dinner at Hanazono after we were recommended by the lady at the reception desk at Q1 Resort which is right above the restaurant, she told us to seat before 6pm and we get 30% off our bill, suites us with 2 boys so we did and WOW. The boys 7&9 years were having such a great time with the Chef who cooks at a big bbq plate you sit around, that they forgot they dont eat good food and ate everything put in front of them including a bowl of salad ... I would pay just for them to have salad once in a while !.. dinner was exciting, tasty and all inclusive with Miso Soup, Aisan Salad, Special Fried Rice with Eggs flying into our mouths courtesy of our Chef and his crazy antics, Beef & Prawns with a special sauce Chef made for us and it cost $80- yes $80 FOR FOUR ... thats cheaper than the fast food joints and a hell of a lot more entertaining, fun & enjoyable. RECOMMEND HANAZONO @ Q1 RESORT ANYTIME ... best value is before 6pm for 30% off the bill.

We were just walked pass it on the way to Skypoint on the same Q1 building when my mom (who coninuously crave for Asian food that has rice on their menu) asked whether we can dine in Hanazono later that evening.

We got an appointment for later. And after scenic view, we went there. The place has 4 teppanyaki stations for 4 groups. Since my group is 12 people, so it's quite crowded. But we manage to squeeze all the youngsters in.

The teppan griller is adorned with sugar that was written Thankyou (we just learnt later that the chef wrote it upside down). The chef introduce himself and he start making acrobatics with eggs and all... including flying salt and peppers. The kids are dumbfounded to this attraction.

For all I can say, the salmon and scallops are juicy and fresh. The chicken that was well-cooked in garlic butter sauce is superb. Fried-rice (or yakimesi) is so-so.. I like it a bit saltier.

Overall we have a fun night... but make sure you wash your hairs and laundry your outfits after that... The smell sticks everywhere... :)

We had an enjoyable, tasty meal. The chef was entertaining, juggling salt & pepper shakers and cleavers. The onion volcano was perfect! We ordered 1 Teriyaki fillet steak, 2 Teriyaki chicken and 1 prawns and shared it between 4 people, the meal included soup, rice and salad. There is a BWS bottle shop very close and the corkage is $4 per person for beer and wine.
