This was our first experience surfing. I was pretty nervous, but it turned out to be loads of fun.
They were about 10 minutes late picking us up, so we had started getting nervous. Our lesson started a bit late.
There were 12 people in our group, and 3 instructors. We had a short intro on the beach and then headed out into the water.
One of the instructors was particularly great, and helped by pointing out what I was doing wrong, and suggesting corrections.
Unfortunately, once 4 or 5 of our "classmates" got the hang of it, and moved to try on their own, we only had 1 instructor helping those of us who were struggling (one was with the ones who were doing well, and then later with a girl who had gotten so scared she stopped trying, and the other was taking pictures). So it sometimes took 10-15 min to get a turn. I did get 7 attempts though, and sort of stood up twice, so that was fun.
We were back at the van 15 min before the end of the 2 hours, and we had started late. I estimate we got to spend about an hour in the water.
It was loads of fun, and we both really enjoyed the experience.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed your surfing experience and had loads of fun. Unfortunately, this lesson happened during the "Gold Coast 600" races and most of the streets around Surfers Paradise were closed. We are so sorry for the delayed in the pickup.
Surfing is a challenging sport so our 2 Hours lessons include an Introduction of our coaches, organizing the right gear for you, carrying boards to the beach, surf instruction on the sand and finally some surfing. If what you are looking is a 2 hours surf session we recommend you the "Supervised Surf" option. On this lesson, we will provide you with the surfing gear and you can go straight out to the ocean with our supervision. This is a bit more challenging but I'm sure your the previous lesson you'll be able to tackle the waves on your own (with our supervision of course :) )

Fabulous morning learning to surf with Get Wet. This was my first ever surf lesson and it was great. The two instructors were great, I will defiantly be going back for more lessons with them.
I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to learn to surf :)

I never thought I could stand up on the surfboard on my first try but I did and that is thanks to my great instructor and Get Wet Surf. The school is professional, the staff is so friendly and truly sharing their passion. Thank you for the best experience.

The whole team at Get Wet were so much fun and made my surf lesson such an awesome experience! I’d learnt the basics as a young kid but hadn’t been surfing in years. This was perfect for me to get confident again in the water and reignite my love for surfing!! Whether you just need a refresher like me or you’re a complete beginner, I highly recommend!
