“good place to stay!”
Reviewed October 5, 2011

we stayed here for one night, we were picked up and dropped back to greyhound bus stop in a limo which is a bit different!
room - we had a room with ensuite which was clean and spacious! The apartment had its own kitchen area, table and living room area - was very nice not to have to be climbing over/fighting people for cooking space or the TV which is common in most hostels.
we didnt use the pool or other facilities in the hostel as we were only there a short time, but staff were helpful and friendly when we had questions
the hostel is close to the beach and shops

Picked up from the bus station which was a nice touch and seemed ok when we got there. Apartment style rooms with own kitchen and bathroom. Although the rooms are in need of a makeover, the mattresses smelt of sweat and the rooms were so dirty. I saw the mop the staff was cleaning our bathroom with which was a tangled mess of hair in brown stagnant water it was disgusting. I wore flip flops in the bathroom at all times!!

I think the staff really ruined my time at the hostel. The guys, all they seemed to care about was chatting up the female guests, they were rude and arrogant, very up themselves considering they only work in a hostel. The hostel organises an event every night which is a great way to meet people and lots of fun but I just could not get over how rude the staff were, and some of the girls who worked there were very gobby and again up themselves. It’s good to keep the vibe young and hip, but I did not appreciate being paying to stay somewhere were the customer service was so bad.

Overall, I booked 3 nights but only stayed two; I got fed up of the dirty, smelly rooms and the arrogant staff. STAY AWAY!

We stayed here for a week and they had good deals on the accommodation rates.
Stayed in a 4bed dorm and it was very cramped but had door that opened up to outside which was good to air the room. The beds were very creaky and had no ladders to climb up. Shower had no pressure and the door didnt close properly so bathroom floor was always wet.
They had deals on pizza and nights out all through the week. Staff were friendly. Definatly a party area so dont go if you expect a quiet time, good location, close to the beach and shops, buses to all the attractions.
Staff were helpful and friendly.

Picked up from station in a limo. Really nice hostel. There are loads of little apartments, each with 3 bedrooms. They all have their own common area and kitchen so loads of space. Downstairs there is a huge tv room with couches. The hostel organises something for the people staying there everynight. Great fun and social place to stay. Most of the staff are very helpful but there are 1 or two who are rude and a bit ignorant which is a pity because apart from that could not recommend this place enough.

Room Tip: Rooms small but common area is comfortable

This hostel is ok. It all seemed pretty positive when we arrived - we were taken to a nice appartment style private room. There was three rooms off of a kitchette and living room. With a bathroom to share. There was also something like $5 all you can eat dominos for dinner too which was great. The problem was when we went to bed. The room was so hot it was discusting and there is no aircon. The matress was made out of foam and smelt like sweat! I wouldnt particulary recommend staying here

Myself and a friend stayed here a couple of weeks a go. We were on a round the world trip and had stayed in a lot of other hostels. We had previously been in Byron and Brisbane where the hostels were very anti social and regimented. This hostel however was very relaxed and even let you drink your own alcohol (I think quite rare for Aus). The staff were all really nice and welcoming, something we hadnt seen in any other Aus hostel.

The dorms were nice and it was a great bonus to have a lounge kitchen area. It was quite frustrating as the dorm was really empty and at one point it was only me and my friend. This of course was of no fault of the hostel as it was low season.
