We stayed for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. We booked through the gold coast accommodation website and therefore our apartment was not part of the Mantra apartments. This meant that we were greated when we arrived by Victoria from Gold Coast accommodation and took us to our room to check that we were happy. We were on the 44th floor of the Northern tower and had magnificent views of the ocean and beach. I was worried about noise due to other reviews but found the most noise was from the ocean. The pools were great but still a bit cold so we used the undercover heated pool. We also used the spa. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it. Just remember to take beach towels, extra dishwashing detergent (or dishwasher powder) and laundry powder if you need it. The location is fantastic and the IGA was visited on numerous occassions but it is just a lift ride down.

We booked this hotel at a very good rate in July 2009 for a stay late december. Today (16.12.) we received the cancellation of the hotel with the explanation that it was overbooked. They even risked getting kicked out by hrs.com because of this explanation and are now selling the rooms for twice as much on several websites.

We rented a two bedroom spa apartment for 8 nights and got upgraded to an ocean view spa room which was nice. The initial response as we walked through the front door was WOW. Nice modern and spacious apartment with great views of the ocean and the two bedrooms were separated by the kitchen, making for some nice privacy which you tend not to get so often. The location of the Mantra on Cavill is brilliant. With a shopping mall within its confines that includes a supermarket, newsagency, bakery and a small number of restaurants it is ideal. The position to the surf beach is just a two block leisurely stroll away. The facilities within the complex were great with a games room used on a wet day and the pools used on the sunny and hot days. We stayed on the 15th floor of the south tower so did not experience the frustration that some other reviewers have stated getting across the internal bridge after hours. However we did expereicne the noise from the street that seems to float up to the apartment. This is particularly annoying at night when trying to sleep, although this was not a huge problem as we were on holiday - I would not recommend this for a business traveller that sleeps lightly! As we stayed for 8 nights and the apartment only got cleaned once during that time we needed to get further supplies of dishwashing detergent, soap and toilet paper from housekeeping. They could have provided more initially. Overall, this was a great base to explore by foot the epicentre of Surfers Paradise.

This is a great hotel located right in the middle of Cavill Ave. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. It comes with a tv (although we couldnt get it to work) full kitchen with dishwasher/oven etc great views with a balcony and chairs.
I didnt like the bathroom however, slippery floors, the shower didnt have a door so all the water spills out onto the floor and they have a blind on the outside of the bedroom that looks into the bathroom and when it is pulled down you can actually still see through it (blinds always leave small gaps and it looks right into the bathroom - not very private at all!!!!). Inside the bathroom is also a spa bath which we did not use and in the cupboard there was a laundry machine, dryer, iron and hair dryer also.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We found it really sound proof we never heard any of our neighbours at all. Overall perfect location i only had issues with the bathroom.

Great ocean view if you can ignore those construction cranes.
We loved the way the rooms were and the view anyway and were pretty happy.
Until we found out that the bloody noise (music, songs) echoes from one of the bars around there whole night.

That was sooooo noisy, maybe they put music on the speakers and echoed all over...too noisy to have a peaceful sleep. Totally disturbed and even wished we booked hinterland view....probably quieter.
That's shame because the rest was just great.
Almost felt the security system was too much but pretty good.

And one more thing, there were really dirty saucepans in the drawer and couldn't find any frying pan in the kitchen.
But I might recommend to my friends to give a try maybe hinterland side...
