“A Fun Time, especially for kids”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We'd done the other cruises available on previous visits so this time, with two 9 year old grandchildren in tow, we thought we'd do something that we knew they'd love so a trip on the Aquaduck was it. The children thought it was amazing that a bus could turn into a boat and then they got to drive it when on the water, well that was the highlight for them. Getting a certificate afterwards was a big deal too.

“Tacky beyond belief”
Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

Trust your instincts: this is as dreadful as it looks. The kids loved it but they love most things and must be forgiven because of their age. On the positive side, the kids get to drive the "Duck" on the water for a minute. The downsides are more plentiful: noisy duck whistles available for purchase which all the kids buy then blast you for the rest of the trip, bumpy suspension and slow driving, then uninspiring drifting through the water with inane commentary about surrounding "mansions". Give it a miss unless the kids insist

“Woeful, unless you are Clark Griswold”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Against all my gut instinct, I was roped into taking the family on this trip by a couple of nagging kids, supported by good reviews on Tripadvisor. I intend to redress the balance. There are really two sorts of people in this world ... those who would enjoy the aquaduck (and find the big prawn, big merino and big banana fascinating and exhilarating) and those who wouldn't. Sadly, I fall into the latter group and readers need to decide which group they fit into. The ride has no suspension and travels at a snails pace on the road, while you bounce up and down like you are in a 4WD on a trail. It is moderately interesting to transition from the road to the water, but the moment passes in about 2 seconds, whereafter the vessel turns into a bobbing cork that bobs along at glacial pace on the water. Adding to the misery, there are lame anecdotes about who owns what property, complemented by even lamer duck noises and this stupid Daffy Duck voice that the vehicle talks to you with to inform you that it is cold when it goes into the water ... extremely droll, NOT! If you think I am being unreasonable, go to the boarding point on Surfer's Paradise Blvd and look at the faces of the people getting off before you buy a ticket. I knew I'd made a mistake as soon as I saw the previous party getting off, they really didn't look impressed. The really bad news is that the trip went off without a hitch, so I am complaining about the best experience you could possibly hope to expect. Hire a jetski instead.

“Great for the kids (big and small)”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

An hour tour in a land and river going vehicle, really informative and enjoyable tour of the area - kids were treat to a small drive of the boat when it was in the river. Good fun and not too expensive at $35 per adult.

“Great introduction to surfers”
Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

I would say it is a great introduction to what's around and what to plan for around surfers in an hour.
Good fun for family although a good idea to arrive early and get good seats.

Kids friendly and family fun..

Ride can be bouncy on road.
