Dinner was excellent and then most nights after dinner at other restaurants, we would end up back at Zinc for the cheeseboard and drinks in the lounge.

We ate at Zinc twice during our stay in Port Douglas. The restaurant is located towards the quiet end of Macrossan St, the main street in Port Douglas. We loved the food on each occasion. We had the Zinc Salad entree as a main and the Barramundi main. Both were delicious. The salad had so many flavours to savour - yum! Service was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails.

We went here last night based on tripadvisor reviews. It is an indoor/outdoor restaurant. After we were greeted & seated, outdoors by the plants, we had a waitress attend to us straight away with drinks. Very efficient. But then, we were being eaten alive by mosquitos. Even the repellent we used didn't help so thankfully we were able to move indoors. Not everyone is prone to mozzie bites as there were families happily sitting and enjoying their meal by the plants. Anyway, we had some of their sourdough with olive oil and balsamic. This bread was amazing. It was swerved warm. My daughter had the children's spaghetti bolognaise and said it was the best ever. Hubby and I had the salmon special which was served with stir fry veggies and smashed sweet potato. It was fantastic. Food portions are also very generous. Be sure to visit the bathroom to see the huge wall of fish/tank. We will go here again before we leave port Douglas. Just dont sit near the plants.
