We enjoyed a few excellent meals during our stay at Port Douglas but agreed that Salsa was our favourite. We were lucky enough to be sitting in the outdoor area and our table at the front overlooked the palm trees and the water. The service was excellent and the menu provided great choices. I had been eating seafood all week so decided to have the angus eye fillet with the buckwheat rosti and japanese inspired pickled vegetables. Yum. My husband loved the lamb tenderloin too.

Second time back, ordered Barramundi, it was very oily like it had been smothered in oil on the grill, sauce on top very rich tomato, not my thing, chick pea chips on side was the highlight with the aoli dipping sauce. Expensive for what it is. Have had better. Service and atmosphere was very good as was the virgin mojito.

We've dined at Salsa previously and were impressed by their lunch - dinner was no excpetion. We shared a tating plate and duck pate for entree, as well as the thai chicken sprinig rolls. All amazing. So many different flavours and textures on the tasting plate, and decent portion sizes. My husband had the yellow fin tuna which he raved about. I had the entree spicy prawns for main (as I was too full form our entrees!) which were slightly overcooked but still delcious. Dessert was another tasting plate that we shared - again, a culinary delight. we left with full bellies and big smiles, and without digging too far into our pockets. Service is always great, ambience is fantastic, food is on par and always exciting.

We have been coming to the Port for years and first experienced Salsa in its old location in Macrossan Street. Over the years it has been consistently tops. Wait staff are excellent - you feel like a long lost friend when you arrive and the ambience on site is just great. Table service is always good, and the drinks menu will provide anything you want. Food can vary. Went there two days ago and we both had the fish, one of us the barra and the other the snapper. Both were poorly cooked - rubbery and stringy. That was disappointing but not representative of our usual experience. You need to go here. I don't think you will be disappointed with the experience. Some advice- book a table.
