“It wears its hat well”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

This place known for its great food lived up to its promise. We had a table of 7 discerning women who were expecting great food, wine and cocktails and that is what we had !! All of the dishes looked fantastic, everyone enjoyed their food immensely and I was blown away by their San Choy Bau. Our waitresses were happy, energetic, accommodating and friendly.

“Definately not overated”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We ate at Salsas on the 28th April when in Port Douglas on our honeymoon. They were booked out for 3 days in advance, so I recommend you make a booking in peak season to avoid disappointment. Some of the locals we spoke to about the restaurant claim its overrated...we disagree. The food was fantastic, service impeccable and not overly expensive in comparison. Make sure you have at least one meal here when visiting Port Douglas..

“Great as always”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Salsa has only ever disappointed us once and that was through service which is peculiar as all the staff have been here for years which speaks volumes in itself.
We took a couple who had just moved up from Sydney and had never been before.
The Ladies had the Wahu special and both raved about it, i had the Tapas, whilst the portions were a little small for me it was as expected and very tasty.
The other gent had the Thai fishcakes and although he said they were ok, i don't think he was overly impressed. It turns out that he is a burger and chips man normally though!
Great service, great value and always book at the weekends.

“Crocodile Sausage Mmmmm”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

I had the jambalaya with crocodile sausage, my partner had the gnocci. The food was amazing. The jambalaya had so may levels of flavor with the various local seafood and chicken in it. The gnocci had a wonderful light texture and the sauce was very tasty. I also had a large cocktail which was very refreshing. If you are in Port Douglas definitely try this restaurant.

“A culinary experience”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

This was recommended by a friend. We did not have a booking but were lucky enough to get a table. The meal was amazing and the service was was you would expect to find in a 'hatted restaurant'. A must for anyone visiting Port Douglas.
