A fun kind of place with casual waterfront dining. The atmosphere is terrific at 5pm when the fish carcasses are lowered into water and George (a giant grouper) rises up to the surface and takes them whole. Has to be seen to be believed how big he is! The food was nice, the beer was cold and the atmosphere was pleasant. Thumbs up.

Lovely spot, good vibe and the fish curry very good. Maybe could have been a little spicier for my taste buds. Liked ambiance, service and food. The warm bread and Dukakis a great starter. Go early to catch the view...

Lunching at "On the Inlet" is a Port Douglas experience to enjoy with friends. The seafood is excellent, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. We ate oysters [natural and kilpedro] to start - from Tasmania they were fresh and sweet. I ate Chili mudcrab,my husband ate coral trout and both were very good. Served with side dishes of a leafy salad with croutons and chips the mudcrab [about 1kg, market price = $100] was tasty, spicy [bit on the mild side -I'm going to ask for more chili next time] beautifully presented and perfectly cook, and served with all theutensils required to really get down and dirty with the food! Because there's a different tube in the body for dessert, we had the trio of sorbets, served with a chili, mint androckmelon salsa - fresh, innovative and refreshingly good. We also had a 'liquid' dessert - Death by Chocolate - and it and the cocktails I had "A nice pear" were fantastic. Next time [and there will be a next time] I'm going to talk my husband into the famous seafood platter for two - FABULOUS venue FABULOUS food!

Oh my goodness, this place is the best!! Tucked away at the end of a lane is this amazing restaurant. Go early and feed George the Groper and watch the sunset and the boats coming back to the Marina. We had the whole snapper and it was sublime!
