In a nut shell - excellent! Collected by our very witty informative guide Les...who knew everything - even to the extent about people on the tours home countries! Not the cheapest tour but by far one of the best tours we've been on. The rain forest was explained in deep detail, the swim under the water falls was exceptional - even if it took 5 mins to get your breath back after plunging in ha ha! The crocs we saw on the river cruise was a real eye opener, so much better than seeing them in a zoo! Cape Trib was stunning & our little lunch isolated amongst the forest was superb. 1st class!

So glad I booked this day with Daintree Discovery Tours. So much was packed into one enjoyable day, and so worth it! I went on the tour with Les and he kept us all entertained throughout the day. The sights are amazing and well worth the price. I have always wanted to see the Great Barrier Reef, but seeing the Daintree Rainforest was a definite highlight of my time in Australia.

First of all, if you get GaRRy (double Rs) as your tour guide, you are in for one fantastic, amazing tour. Garry was very knowledgeable about the local area. We were lucky enough to see some crocs and the swim under Cassowary Falls was memorable. Recommended. Fern & Rob

We did the morning tour (half day) that took us crocodile spotting on a boat up the river followed by amazing homemade scones and daintree tea then on an awesome jeep ride deep into the Daintree where we swam in watering holes and a waterfall with turtles and fish. It was absolutely beautiful and our tour guide Garry was absolutely hilarious. He had so much knowledge and was an absolute pleasure to spend the morning again. We were sad we only did the half day :-(

We did the half day tour in the morning, which started off with a bus ride from Port Douglas to the Daintree River. On the way, Garry our tour guide filled us in on the region's history and other interesting facts. He also had an abundance of knowledge about the local wildlife and rainforest.

Once at the Daintree River, we hopped onto a small boat (there were only eight of us on the tour). We cruised down the river with a local expert and spotted three crocs (one large one that was approximately four metres in length), two snakes and lots of birds. We learnt about how these different animals lived and the river.

Following this we sat down to morning tea, which consisted of devonshire tea and chocolate. We even saw an amazing green tree frog on the wall of the cafe.

We then headed further up, where we transferred into a great open-roofed 4WD and made our way into the rainforest and to Cassowary Falls. The ride was really bumpy on an old track that crossed over small creeks, but was a lot of fun. We stopped on the way so that Garry could show us various things, including some Cassowary berries and explained what they were and their importance for the Daintree Rainforest.

Garry mentioned that Daintree Discovery Tours are the only tour group with access to this area of the rainforest, which made the tour even more special.

At the falls, Garry encouraged us all to go in for a swim - he jumped in the swimming hole first to show us the best way in and helped us all into the water. When I first jumped in, the water was so cold that it took my breath away, but the waterfall and water was so beautiful that it didn't matter. We spotted some turtles and eels in the water too which made it even better.

Garry took our photo jumping off a rock before we hopped out, drove back to where our tour bus was parked and headed back to Port Douglas.

This was without a doubt my favourite day of the trip. Garry made the tour unforgettable by making sure everybody got involved and got out of their comfort zones. His knowledge was astounding.
